The student Viola, who has finally begun chemotherapy, describes a collapse she had at night, during which a friend of hers took self-sacrificing care of her. Then the conversation turns to her brother, her ex-boyfriend Tomás, and the meaning of helping people who are disabled. Viola succumbs to a wave of despair and accuses Marek of not being concerned enough about her. The therapist makes clear to her that he's a mere replacement for resolving her health problems. He tells her why he had to cancel their previous session and this awakens Viola's sympathy. He promises Viola that, if she won't find anyone else, he'll take her to her next chemotherapy as well.
