Christina Applegate is doing everything she can to make sure she's there to see her daughter grow up.
The 45-year-old actress, who had a double mastectomy in 2008 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, revealed to Today on Wednesday that she underwent surgery two weeks ago to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed to reduce her risk of further cancers.
"My cousin passed away from ovarian cancer in 2008. I could prevent that,” Applegate shared. “That’s how I’ve taken control of everything. It’s a relief. That’s one other thing off the table. Now, let’s hope I don’t get hit by a bus.”
The actress revealed that she has the BRCA1 gene mutation, which increases her chances of developing cancer. Applegate fears that her 6-year-old daughter, Sadie, could have the gene as well, and has made adjustments to her lifestyle as a result.

Though runways are getting increasingly more diverse every season, the same progress seemingly isn’t being made backstage.
Model Londone Myers called attention to the different treatment she received at Paris Fashion Week in an Instagram post. In the time-lapse video, stylists buzz around models getting ready for the show while Myers sits in the hair and makeup chair, apparently ignored by the backstage glam squad.
“I don’t need special treatment from anyone. What I need is for hairstylists to learn how to do black hair,” she captioned the post. “I’m so tired of people avoiding doing my hair at shows.

It’s never easy to lose a job, especially a nice sitcom gig, but when Erinn Hayes was let go from “Kevin Can Wait” at the end of Season 1, she handled it with relative grace on Twitter:

Since then, especially following the reveal that the character of Donna would be killed off to make way for the re-introduction of Leah Remini, Hayes has been relatively quiet about “Kevin Can Wait” in every way except one: Her use of the “like” button.
Like many people on Twitter, Hayes’s feed these days is largely dominated by political discussion and imploring followers to help disaster victims. But over the last 24 hours, she’s also been actively liking Tweets...

The phrase “episode order cut” strikes fear in many a showrunner’s heart, but the executive producers behind Starz’s upcoming American Gods say that an early adjustment to the series’ Season 1 total was exactly what the fantasy drama needed.

Congratulations -- you finally did it. You built a home movie theater and are dying to get it finished so you can watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" over and over and over again in the comfort of your own digs. Before you hunker down to witness Rey kicking some major Kylo Ren butt, though, you've gotta dress your space for success.
The screen is hung, the projector is purchased, and the movie collection is dusted off, so the big question is, how should you decorate the room? The choice to hang that "Hateful Eight" poster or a "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" commemorative plaque is super hard. So here are some tips and tricks to help you decide how to deck out your cinematic Shangri-la.

Melissa McCarthy has something to say to all the Ghostbusters reboot haters (of which there are many): Get some perspective. In an interview with The Guardian, McCarthy was clearly frustrated with those bashing the movie on social media sites, this despite the fact that Ghostbusters won’t even be in theaters for more than a month. “All those comments – ‘You’re ruining my childhood!’ I mean, really,” McCarthy said. “Four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood? I have a visual of those people…not having friends, so they’re just sitting there and spewing hate into this fake world of the Internet. I just hope they find a friend.” The Ghostbusters trailer hasn’t been getting a lot of love online. The video is reportedly the most disliked movie promo in YouTube history with more than 850,000 “Thumbs Down” to date. Interestingly, McCarthy has also expressed her discontent with the trailer,...

In 2008, Katherine Heigl weathered more controversy in the span of a year than most actors deal with their entire careers. In addition to the actress's insinuation that the writers of Grey's Anatomy didn't give her "the material" in the show's fourth season to warrant Emmy consideration for her performance, she also drew ire for calling Knocked Up "a little sexist," telling Vanity Fair in a now-infamous interview: "It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. … I had a hard time with it, on some days. I'm playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you're portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie." In a wide-ranging interview on Wednesday's Howard Stern Show, Heigl addressed both controversies, but...

In one of the funnier and more clever ways to promote a movie, Warner Bros. Pictures has released three new videos where the stars of the upcoming film The Nice Guys, Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, are participating in couples therapy for “issues” and some supposed feud they’re having.
The two actors hilariously presented the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay during the 88th Academy Awards.
Set in 1970s Los Angeles, down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power. (Trailer)
Directed by Shane Black, The Nice Guys also stars Angourie Rice, Matt Bomer, Margaret Qualley, Keith David, Beau Knapp, and Kim Basinger.

A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg lent their voices and rap skills to a pair of bodega cats in Friday's episode of Animals, HBO's R-rated animated comedy series that takes a perverse look at the animal kingdom. For the episode, the A$AP Mob members rhyme about bodega shoppers (including Kanye West), tuna fish, sleeping in the bread aisle and bagel-eating rats.
"You say beef / I say chickens/ I don't really know the difference / If you asked me what my favorite dish is / Either pussy or the fishes," A$AP Rocky's bodega cat says.

You can do whatever you want in the sewers," Animals co-creator Phil Matarese says. "When we're making episodes about rats, you can tell loose, crazy stories. You can tell a really fucked-up story about a rat hiding his boner from a girl, but it's mostly about this kid who just likes a girl a lot."
"The boner is his heart," executive producer Mark Duplass counters matter-of-factly.
"The boner is his heart," Matarese rejoins, laughing. "He's got a heart boner."

Joseph Fiennes’s Roman soldier goes on the hunt for a missing body and finds Jesus in this retelling of the crucifixion, which despite scripting sins is heaven compared with other religious films
A detective is summoned to his chief’s office, where he’s read the riot act. Get some results and get them fast – the head of the entire department will be here in a matter of days! Lean on your informants if you have to, just solve this case and solve it now! It’s a scene from a thousand different cop movies, only this time the detective is a Roman tribune, his angry boss is Pontius Pilate, the ticking clock is a visit from Emperor Tiberius and the missing person is Jesus of Nazareth, the risen Christ.

Remember when there was all that talk about how Grey’s Anatomy was going to have a “much lighter tone” this season? Yeah, apparently, the midseason premiere didn’t get the memo.
As the promos for this week’s Denzel Washington-directed episode forewarned us, “The Sound of Silence” focused on Meredith’s brutal attack by a patient. But that was hardly the only traumatic incident packed into the hour.
Read on, Valium at the ready, and we’ll go over not only the details of the assault but the heart-stopping moments that followed it as well.

Capcom’s promising a bigger story than ever before for Street Fighter V, and we believe them after seeing the newest story trailer for the game. Labelled as the ‘Street Fighter V Cinematic Story Expansion’, the trailer is actually a teaser for a free slice of story-oriented Dlc planned to release for the game in June 2016.
Along with the trailer, Capcom have finally cemented the exact time in which Street Fighter V takes place within it’s own chronology. Set between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, Capcom’s promising a cinematic story experience never before offered in the series’ history.
Despite the fact that said content isn’t due until post-release, there will be various story elements available on day one. Playing through arcade mode with each character will provide important background information with them, displayed through the use of a retro art style from celebrated Japanese illustrator Bengus.
