- As Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) represent a car service driver accused of stealing his celebrity passengers handbags, an old grudge threatens Infeld's (Malcolm MacDowell) return to work.
- We open with a firm meeting that is, typical of the guys, non-traditional in format. To everyone's surprise Infeld walks in and demands to know "what's going on here?" The guys invite him to sit at the head of the table.
After the meeting Infeld tells the guys they need to refine their approach if the firm is to get back to the top.
The guys get a walk-in video from a man named Jimmy, a driver who works for taxi cab-like app. He's been arrested for stealing 70 grand worth celebrity handbags with a passenger. We learn that Jimmy has a photographic memory for directions in the city. The guys tell him the woman used a fake name. She set him up and he's now looking at ten years. The guys agree to represent him since he gave them a ride a few weeks earlier.
The guys tell Swatello they want him to represent a man named Bob, who wants to sue a large pharmaceutical company after a sleeping pill called Twilera made him so loopy he accidentally ordered an unwanted dominatrix. She doesn't like the idea, but they pull rank on her. She likes the idea a lot more when she sees that Bob is a hunk
In court it comes out via GPS that Jimmy's car was tracked to a parking lot across from a pawn shop. The case will go to a jury.
In the hall Jimmy tells the guys that for some reason the night was a blur to him. He doesn't drink, so they wonder if perhaps he was slipped something. Jimmy appears to be smitten by the woman, who the guys realize they need to find.
Mundy has found multiple pictures of the girl Jimmy drove that night at celebrity functions. There is one photography company that seems to have taken multiple pictures of her.
Particially because he's jealous of bob, Franklin suggests Swatello drops the case. Swatello says it's turning into a positional class action case worth millions. She shows him a device she got from Bob's doctor. It measures drugs in the system by analyzing the pupil reaction time. Bob
Infeld and the guys go to lunch at an old haunt and find out they're no longer being treated very well. Infeld gets mad and punches Larsen, the owner, in the face.
Outside Infeld tells the guys he's not sure what came over him. He's feeling a lot of pressure. Larsen walks outside and tells Infeld he's upset about a woman he and Infeld battled over two decades earlier. He wants $100,000 or he's going to the police.
The photographer recognizes the picture of Jimmy's passenger as Sadie, a woman who used to be in charge of gift bags for celebs. She is no longer employed, but the guys are told where she lives.
Bash suggests Swatello might be trying to make Franklin jealous by dressing up to lure Bob to a nice dinner. She denies it, saying the real reason is that Karp is trying to lure Bob's case over to his firm.
Lundy suggests to Franklin that he could follow Swatello to see if anything is going on with her and Bob. Franklin doesn't seem interested, but Lundy looks like he's going to go through with it.
The guys drop by Sadie's apartment. They tell her they've called the police, who will be there in a minute. They offer to represent her in order to help her avoid jail time. Instead, as soon as the police arrive she tells them the theft was Jimmy's idea and he made her do it.
Jimmy assures the guys that Sadie is lying. The only good thing is that Sadie won't be able to testify since they're co-defendants.
Infeld and the guys meet with Larsen. They say they won't pay and remind him that he is guilty of extortion. Infeld and Larsen start to catch-up and we realize that they are actually feuding over a car. The resolution is that Larsen be allowed to punch Infeld as payback the following day.
In the course of looking at Bob, Mundy has discovered most of the large firms in the area are trying to poach the case.
The guys ask Infeld to reach out to Bob in order to tell him his case is important to them.
The guys tell Swatello what they've learned about Bob. Franklin tells her to do "whatever it takes" to land him.
The next time in court we see that Jimmy is clearly infatuated with Sadie. But Sadie has decided to turn states evidence. She's pled guilty and will be testifying against Jimmy.
While talking to Jimmy the guys see that when Sadie is around he completely loses his mind. This gives Franklin an idea.
Infeld and the guys meet with Larsen for the punch. He signs the contract and immediately Mike Tyson appears. Larsen buried a clause that allows him to pick somebody else to throw the punch. Tyson levels Infeld in the stomach, after which Franklin hits Tyson. This hurt Tyson's feelings and he immediately leaves.
The next time in court the guys call to the stand a toxicologist. They have him use Bob's device to prove that Jimmy is, at that particular moment, not under the influence of anything. The guys then re-call Jimmy and prove just how strong his mind is with regard to the area's map. When Sadie enters the room he immediately struggles to recall the most basic information. They grab the doctor against and have him test Jimmy's pupils with Sadie in the room. He indicates his pupil reaction is that of somebody high on opiates.
Swatello tells the guys that Bob has gone with Karp after finding out Mundy was snooping around. The good thing is that Bob's story is bogus.
Bash's closing argument is that Jimmy was "high" on Sadie, the result of being "lost in love." The guys win the case.
