June Squibb (Maggie Banks) sings in several of the musical numbers in this episode. Squibb started her professional acting career in musical theater, appearing in off-Broadway musicals such as The Boy Friend (1958) and No Shoestrings (1962). She made her Broadway debut in the original production of Gypsy, and has remained active in the theater; as of 2020, her most recent Broadway role was as Josie in the musical Waitress , a role she took over during late 2018 and early 2019 when she was in her late 80s.
When Chris Colfer (Kurt) was asked to write the script for this episode he first said "No, I'm not going to put words in my co-stars' mouths".
Several co-stars revealed that while they were in tears from laughter, Lea Michele got so fed up during filming and refused to come out of her trailer due to Tim Conway's improvising.
The headshots of the "residents"/cast of Peter Pan are actual former headshots of the real-life actors. You can see that their "names" are just printed labels stuck over their actual names on the headshots on the bulletin board.
