- [Rick and the group find and meet Father Gabriel for the first time]
- Rick Grimes: Do you have any weapons on you?
- Father Gabriel Stokes: Do I look like I would have any weapons.
- Sgt. Abraham Ford: We don't give two short and curlies what it looks like.
- Father Gabriel Stokes: I have no weapons of any kind. The word of God is the only protection I need.
- Daryl Dixon: Sure didn't look like it.
- Father Gabriel Stokes: I called for help. Help came.
- Rick Grimes: How many walkers have you killed?
- Father Gabriel Stokes: Not any, actually.
- Rick Grimes: Turn around. How many have you killed?
- Father Gabriel Stokes: None.
- Rick Grimes: Why?
- Father Gabriel Stokes: Because the Lord abhors violence.
- Rick Grimes: What have you done? We've all done something.
- Father Gabriel Stokes: I'm a sinner. I sin almost every day. But those sins, I confess them to God, not strangers.
- [Rick and the group stay weary of Father Gabriel and continue to move on]
- [Rick and Michonne walk together when Rick asks her about not having to carry her sword anymore]
- Rick Grimes: Do you miss the sword?
- Michonne: Wasn't really mine in the first place. Found it in the very beginning.
- Rick Grimes: How'd you get so good?
- Michonne: It was just me and them out here all day, every day a good long time. I don't know what that was, but it wasn't life. Not like today. Stumbling around in three feet of slime for some peas and carrots, that's living. I miss Andrea. I miss Hershel.
- Rick Grimes: Yeah.
- Michonne: I don't miss what was before. I don't miss that sword.
- [Glenn comes stumbling out from searching an abandoned restaurant by himself]
- Tara Chambler: Was it a walker?
- Glenn Rhee: Uh, yeah. It was a walker.
- Maggie Greene: Really?
- [Tara and Maggie look at Glenn apprehensively]
- Glenn Rhee: It was a stack of boxes and a mop and I tripped.
- [the two girls begin laughing with Glenn]
- Glenn Rhee: Still... we have what we came for.
- Tara Chambler: You actually found something?
- Glenn Rhee: Three silencers stashed in a mini-fridge. Rule number one of scavenging - There's nothing left in this world that isn't hidden.
- [Tara looks down in a quiet silence]
- [Rick and his group arrive with Abraham and his group at the church together, Abraham forms a plan to keep pushing and move forward to Washington]
- Sgt. Abraham Ford: We found a short bus out back. It don't run, but I bet we can fix it in less than a day or two. Father here says he doesn't want it. Looks like we found some transport. You understand what's at stake here, right?
- Rick Grimes: Yes, I do.
- Michonne: [Rick and his group begin to walk into the church one after another] Now that we can take a breath...
- Sgt. Abraham Ford: We take a breath, we slow down, shit inevitably goes down.
- Michonne: We need supplies. No matter what we do next.
- Rick Grimes: That's right. Water, food, ammunition.
- Daryl Dixon: Short bus ain't going nowhere. Bring you back some baked beans.
- Glenn Rhee: One way or another, we're doing what Rick does. We're not splitting up again.
- Tara Chambler: What he said.
- Bob Stookey: We want to roll with you, but... what she said.
- [Abraham smiles and follows the group into the church]
- [Abraham cheers to Rick's group in the church, referring to them all as the survivors]
- Sgt. Abraham Ford: [Abraham continues to give a speech] Is that all you want to be? Wake up in the morning, fight the undead pricks, forage for food, go to sleep with two eyes open, rinse and repeat? 'Cause you can do that. I mean, you got the strength. You got the skill. Thing is, for you people, for what you can do, that's just surrender. Now, we get Eugene to Washington and he make the dead die and the living will have this world again. And that is not a bad takeaway for a little road trip. Eugene, what's in D.C.?
- Dr. Eugene Porter: Infrastructure constructed to withstand pandemics even for this fubar magnitude. That means fuel, food, refuge. Restart.
- Sgt. Abraham Ford: However this plays out, however long it takes for the reset button to kick in, you can be safe there. Safer than you've been since this whole thing started. Come with us. Save the world for that little one. Save it for yourselves. Save it for the people out there, who don't got nothing left to do except survive.
- [Rick smiles as the group sits in silence, Rick then hears Judith murmur out some baby talk]
- Rick Grimes: What was that? I think she knows what I'm about to say. She's in. If she's in, I'm in. We're in.
- [Rick's group begins to clap with joy]
- [first lines]
- Rick Grimes: [Rick talks to Tara for one of the first times, about being part of the Governor's group before] You didn't want to be there. That's why I tried to talk to you. Glenn told me you saved his life.
- Tara Chambler: He saved mine.
- Rick Grimes: That's how it works with us. Right.
- Tara Chambler: Right. Hey.
- [Tara holds out her hand to give Rick a fist bump, Rick hesitates, and then gives Tara a fist bump back]
- [Bob and Sasha joke back and forth about what she dislikes and what he likes about it, while the group walks in the woods]
- Sasha Williams: Uh, wet socks.
- Bob Stookey: Cool feet.
- Sasha Williams: Mosquito bites.
- Bob Stookey: Itching reminds you that you're alive.
- Sasha Williams: Danger around every corner.
- Bob Stookey: Never a dull moment.
- Sasha Williams: The hot sun beating down on you.
- Bob Stookey: Come on, a glorious tan.
- Bob Stookey: [Sasha laughs] I said it and I meant it.
- Sasha Williams: No privacy.
- Bob Stookey: Captive audience.
- [Sasha laughs and kisses Bob]
- Bob Stookey: One more.
- [Sasha gives Bob another kiss]
- Bob Stookey: One more.
- [the two laugh and continue to walk]
- [Bob talks to Rick about going to Washington as the group walks along the streets over to the food bank]
- Bob Stookey: Hey. When you said they don't get to live, you weren't wrong. We push ourselves and let things go. Then we let some more go and then some more. And pretty soon, there's things we can't get back. Things we couldn't hold on to even if we tried. Washington's gonna happen, Rick.
- Rick Grimes: I haven't decided if we're going.
- Bob Stookey: Yeah, I know, and that's cool. But you've seen Abraham in action. He's gonna get there and Eugene's gonna cure all this and you're gonna find yourself in a place where it's like how it used to be. And if you let too much go along the way, that's not gonna work. 'Cause you're gonna be back in the real world.
- Rick Grimes: This is the real world, Bob.
- Bob Stookey: Naw. This is a nightmare, and nightmares end. I'm sorry. I'm calling it. Washington's gonna happen. You're gonna say yes. Already too much momentum. You can't fight city hall. Maybe that's just one of those parts I'm not letting go.
- [Bob walks on with a smile on his face]
- [Rick talks to Carl in the church]
- Rick Grimes: You are not safe. No matter how many people are around, or how clear the area looks, no matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe. It only takes one second. One second and it's over. Never let your guard down, ever. I want you to promise me.
- Carl Grimes: I promise.
- [Rick talks to Carol about sending her away, and now how she returned to save Rick from Terminus]
- Rick Grimes: I sent you away to this...
- Carol Peletier: You said I could survive. You were right.
- Rick Grimes: I sent you away to this and now we're joining you. Will you have us?
- [Carol nods in appreciation]
- Rick Grimes: [Rick whispers] Thank you.
- [Rick takes a seat besides Gabriel at the church]
- Rick Grimes: Thanks for the hospitality. I'm surprised you let us drink your communion wine.
- [Rick takes a drink of wine]
- Father Gabriel Stokes: There's isn't anyone left to take communion. The wine's just wine until it's blessed.
- [Gabriel takes a drink of wine]
- Rick Grimes: You're hiding something. And it's pretty obvious it's something you can't hide from. That's your business. But these people, these people are my family. And if what you're hiding hurts them in any way, I'll kill you.
- [Bob and Rick's group arrive at the food bank and look down into a giant hole filled with water and sludge-like Walkers]
- Bob Stookey: If a sewer could puke, this is what it'd smell like.
- [last lines]
- Gareth: [Gareth talks to Bob on the ground with Gareth's group all around him] I want to explain myself a little. You see, we didn't want to hurt you... before. We didn't want to pull you away from your group or scare you. These are things we don't want to do. They're things we got to do. You and your people took away our home. That's fair play. Now we're out here like everybody else trying to survive. And in order to do that, we have to hunt. Didn't start that way, eating people. It evolved into that. We evolved. We had to. And now we've devolved into hunters. I told you. I said it. Can't go back, Bob. I just hope you understand that nothing happening to you now is personal. Yeah, you put us in this situation and it is almost a kind of cosmic justice for it to be you, but... we would have done this to anybody. And we will. But at the end of the day, no matter how much we hate this ugly business... a man's gotta eat.
- Gareth: [Gareth takes a bite of meat when Bob notices his leg has been surgically removed] If it makes you feel any better... you taste much better than we thought you would.
- [Bob notices all of Gareth's group eating the same meat around him, as Bob screams and cries]
- [Tara walks up to Maggie in the church and takes a seat beside her]
- Tara Chambler: [Tara talks to Maggie over the remorse she feels, for Maggie and her losing loved ones] I was at the prison. With the Governor. I didn't know who he was or what he could do. And I didn't know who all of you were. I - I just didn't want it to be hidden. That I was there.
- Maggie Greene: [Maggie quietly whispers back to Tara] You're here with us now.
- [when Tara quietly hugs Maggie by the shoulder]
