When Z-Pak is launching from the carrier the number of external fuel tanks changes every time they cut away from and then back to his F-18. It changes between 1, 3, and 5 (only 4 visible, it can be assumed both wings have 2). He appears to have an air-to-air missile on each wingtip, but no air-to-ground ordinance is visible in any shot, even though he is being sent to engage ground targets.
