In the break midwinter

Warning: Spoilers
Tommy's favourite poem which he starts whenever he thinks he is about to die. An exciting concluision to the series with The Selbey's back on top. Arthur is the loosest of loose cannons and Baby face John is certainly no angel.

Tommy makes up with Alfie Soloman who does not appear to object to Tommy being very close to his 'wife'

Polly gets her revenge of Chester Campbell who is limping like Chester from Gunsmoke. As Campbell lies dying, Polliy reminds him what he did wrong. A great scene

The country is awash with crime and corruption but we see great drama very well acted

Season Review
atkinsonlouise-7387320 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After the great first series, season two somehow managed to top it. After the cliffhanger at the end of series one, all are main players survived and it made for a intriguing and delightful 6 episodes as you wondered who would bite the bullet. Cillian Murphy continues to be great as Tommy Shelby, while Sam Neil returned more evil and nastier as the Chief Inspector . The events of season one had hardened him and made even more bitter and his actions over the series, made his death ever sweeter. A truly dastardly villain and one of the most evil and despicable in TV. The rest of the Shelby clan were on form too, especially Paul Anderson's great portrayal of Arthur as he descends into madness and Helen McCrory as Polly showing the highs of finding her son (Finn Cole a great addition as Michael) and the lows of her mistreatment by Major Campbell who she dispatches of in the end. The Shelbys moving into London was fun and it was great to see them get one over on the Sabini's. Tom Hardy was also a welcome addition as Alfie, providing an interesting sort of ally and then betrayer. The side plot of Grace's return was decent and I'm sure will be dealt with in series 3, but didn't really blow me away or bore me either. Those last two episodes were sensational, setting up the finale and then delivering a quality ending to this arch of the show and the rivalry between Campbell and Tommy. What a series, I can't wait for more! Score: 9/10.

best episode of the whole series.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode had a perfect soundtrack and a perfect ending. This episode had the best from all the characters and ended a great season off perfectly. I definitely think this is my favourite episode of the whole 36 and was truly amazing and flawless. Never before has an episode had be on the "edge of my seat" as much as this one. The ending was really emotional and seeing tommy cry on screen for the first time really shocked me to see a sad side from such a cold and fearless character on the outside, but this episode really dived into the fact tommy Shelby can be scared. He was so close to death but came out alive. What an amazing episode.

One of the best episodes of any series I have ever seen. The story was planned out beautifully, on top of that we saw a lot of strong scenes, incredible interactions and on top of that there were plot twists all over. A truly deserved 10/10 the episode just couldn't have been better.

Grace told May that her name was Grace because the name of Tommy's horse that She was training is Graces secret
Neptune16521 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The remarkable thing about Thomas Shelby isn't so much is ability to mastermind completely flawless plans and execute them to perfection. Realistically, very few people can actually do that. If his experiences in France taught him anything, it's that even the best laid plans very rarely work out exactly how you intended. The thing that makes Tommy such a brilliant tactician is the speed at which you can adapt and change course when things to do go wrong, all the while, staying steps ahead of his enemies. What people don't realise is that Alfie Solomon increased his percentage from 20% to 35%. He knew tommy wouldn't let him have 100% and it will get lower but he still got 15% more then initial deal! Lacy is talking way too much through some great dialogue. This show is so brilliantly written...constant chatter will make it easy to miss some of the subtle hints and plotting placed carefully in those words. Just one opinion from me.

Good albeit flawed season overall

Warning: Spoilers
After watching this finale, I took a moment to contemplate whether or not I like this season, I finally come to the conclusion that this season while good and has some impressive elements, is nowhere as good as the previous season. Normally, shows improve on their premiere season but I'm disappointed to say that this, however doesn't improve and keeps only struggling to impress or give its characters something worthwhile to do. One major problem I noticed is that this season needed a fresh dynamic between Tommy/Peaky blinders and the antagonist. And Inspector Campbell while, excellent as the baddie in the first season, totally lacks the conviction that his character has Initially. The rivalry between him and Tommy feels dragged out. And just isn't absorbing enough to keep things interesting. And not to talk how atrocious is the manner they killed off the character. Another frustrating segment that didn't work for me this season is that of Polly and her long lost son Michael. Polly is an amazing character serving as a mother figure and also the voice of season to Peaky blinders in the first season. But it seemed like she's relegated in this season and feature in some half-baked mother-son relationship, what also didn't help is that Michael is an annoying character with terrible character development. He's totally unbelievable, he's supposed to be a sweet school-going teenager but he came across as cold and callous as though he's been a member of the gang for years. Another disappointment in terms of character is that of Grace. I dislike the direction they took her character here. In the previous season, she's an integral part of the plot and come across as intelligent, independent and dutiful but here after a long absence, she came back only to tell Tommy she loves him even though he's low-key not interested. And have her featured in a really sappy love triangle angle. This show's redeeming quality is its main character and Tommy still maintains that likability and charisma to keep things together. Also introduction of Tom Hardy's character is a big plus. The main plot involving the intermittent rise and fall of the Peaky blinders was engaging enough. On the whole, This show is impressive in terms acting, technical elements but the story and characters sometimes fall short. I hope the next season will bounce back.

The movement of the story is jerky
silverton-3795915 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The story is moving along fairly well, when Tommy falls off the track and starts jumping between two women. The entire plot of the betrayals leading to a war among at least four organizations, not counting the police and intelligence agencies, is left to flounder while Tommy gets his love affairs settled in his own mind.

I think that the director is in over his head here, or maybe he's sniffing glue or something. There is no reason for the story to just start jerking along this way. It's reminiscent of the 3rd season of Sons Of Anarchy or any season of Animal Kingdom.

This isn't really what I hoped for; and, BTW, Annabelle Wallis seems to have gotten a nose job between seasons. It runs her looks, IMO.

the Gypsy vs The Jurrasic parc Legend
nicofreezer6 July 2021
One survive and it was the best scene of the entire show The other died and it was the most stupid scene of the entire show.

A good Season finale for an okay season of TV.

But 9.6/10 ? Are the Peaky blinders fans out of their Minds ? It is a 9.6 compare to the others Peaky blinders episode but compare to great TV show's it IS a 6/10 Im giving it a solid 8/10 , it was an entertaining jour for sure .

The death of the best character of the show is a Bad idea and his death was stupid, kill by a woman in 1930, thats such an unreal thing , such a miserable ending for peaky blinders best villain.

But I understand today show's got to have a place for women even in a world and a time (1920-1930) were woman had no power. It makes the show unreal just to please women viewers... Old tv shows didnt had that problem.

Everyone showed up and showed out for the last episode of season two. So many great moments and one of divine Justice. The Churchill thing with Tommy was weird, I guess going to come back and fuel the next scheme.

No fuss about Churchill? Extraordinary.
greenf749 November 2014
The second series of "Peaky Blinders" has also attracted attention and approbation, but there's been little fuss about the most obviously controversial aspect of the show, its characterisation of Winston Churchill. The future hero of 1940 is shown as a ruthless conniver who does not hesitate to plot the murder of a British subject or to use a gangster to do the deed, the subsequent betrayal of the latter being taken for granted. It seems quite astounding that the entire Tory Party has not been up in arms at this outrageous suggestion, not to mention the many other Churchill admirers to be found outside its ranks. Taking "Peaky Blinders" simply as a fiction, it's certainly been gripping in Season Two, the influences of Leone, Coppola and Scorsese remaining strong. Cunningly, Steven Knight has given us a second Michael Corleone figure to make Tommy Shelby seem less derivative of the Pacino prototype - Polly's son (actually called Michael) has joined the family business and, at season's end, seems set to grow in importance. But Season Two has been unsatisfactory, with Grace Burgess returning in mid-series as a barely recognisable travesty of the strong character seen in Season One and the ferocious puritan Campbell becoming a kind of demon-figure with several of the attributes of a Victorian melodrama baddie. The actors do their very best (Sam Neill is again riveting), but the characters have become - handily - a lot less complex. It's indicative of a decline that there have been references to movies a lot less distinguished than the Coppola and Leone epics - "Scarface", "Villain", "Marathon Man" and even - with Arthur's cry of "We're the kings of the world!" - "Titanic". A falling-off, indeed.
