The first artifact on display is The Spear of Destiny. This was also the first thing Flynn collected as Librarian in "The Librarian: Quest for the Spear", the first of the Librarian movie trilogy.
The Librarians TNT TV series aired its first episode 12/7/2014 exactly 10 years after the airing of the first TNT Librarian movie on 12/7/2004.
The Dagger Ezekiel tries to steal is the same Dagger that each member of the Leverage team encountered in the Leverage episode "The Rashomon Job". Leverage (2008), like The Librarians, was produced by Dean Devlin and stars Christian Kane (Jake Stone).
In an early scene, Flynn appears in an outfit bearing similarities to the looks of both the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors from Doctor Who (Converse with brown suit, bow tie and waistcoat, respectively). According to Noah Wyle, he is not a Doctor Who viewer and chose the costume to fit his character. The resemblance is a happy coincidence, especially given that, like the Doctor, he appears somewhere he should not be and confuses those he meets with quick speech and arcane knowledge and total disregard for the situation.
Jacob Stone says that the painting of "The Crowning of King Arthur" showcases the "Roman Hypothesis" in which Arthur and his knights were Roman soldiers. This theory is explored in the 2004 film "King Arthur".
