Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton entering into a unique arrangement, J.Lo fighting evil artificial intelligence, the roasting of an NFL legend, a retelling of the invention of the Pop Tart, Brooke Shields and Benjamin Bratt at war and John Mulaney’s six-night live comedy event from Los Angeles are some of the big titles hitting Netflix in May.
Debuting on May 3 is Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut, Unfrosted. The comedy legend works both sides of the camera for this humorous feature take on the birth of the Pop Tart. The movie is set in 1963 as breakfast cereal giants Kellogg’s and Post compete to become the first company to create a morning pastry. Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan and Amy Schumer also star, with Hugh Grant more than likely to steal the whole film with a turn as Tony the Tiger.

As summer approaches (for the Northern Hemisphere at least), Netflix is set to premiere a fresh season of one of its biggest hits.
Brigerton season 3 is set to arrive on May 16 and will debut a “new crop of debutantes” into the regency drama fray. Other original series of note this month include Indian drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (May 1), the Jeff Daniels-starring A Man in Full (May 2), and intriguing Korean title The 8 Show (May 17). Of course, Netflix is also rolling out a suite of true crime docs and docuseries as well. Chief among those options is Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal on May 15.
It’s the movie side of things where Netflix is feeling particularly lively though. May 3 sees the arrival of Jerry Seinfeld Pop Tart comedy Unfrosted. That will be followed by rom-com Mother of the Bride (May 9) and the Jennifer Lopez-starring Atlas (May 24).

Alan Ritchson is a force of nature in Prime Video's "Reacher," where he delivers a compelling, book-accurate performance of the titular drifter with a penchant for solving crimes. Ritchson balances Reacher's brute strength with the perfect amount of vulnerability, painting him as a man fiercely dedicated to the cause, willing to evolve as a person when the situation demands so. While Reacher is perhaps one of his best roles so far, Ritchson's career is marked with performances that need to be highlighted, given how often they tend to be overlooked.
Before Ritchson started playing buff dudes who could beat up anyone in the room, he embodied a diverse range of characters on both the big and small screens. Ritchson started his career with a recurring guest role in the DC Comics series "Smallville," where he played Arthur Curry/Aquaman — a role he reprised when he voiced the character in the animated film,...

A reboot of cult comedy Blue Mountain State is on the cards, with the original creators and cast set to return.
Though the Tom Cruise films Jack Reacher and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back were fun, it is Alan Ritchson who has really defined the role of Reacher onscreen. Reacher recently finished airing its second season on Amazon Prime, and although the critical reception wasn’t as positive as the first, it is currently pressing ahead with season three, which will reportedly be based on author Lee Child’s seventh novel, Persuader. The plot will see Reacher conduct a secret mission on behalf of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to help bring down a drug smuggler, Zachary Beck.
Alan Ritchson first came to prominence co-starring in sitcom Blue Mountain State, in which he played Kevin “Thad” Castle.

Before Alan Ritchson was Jack Reacher, he was Kevin “Thad” Castle, the Blue Mountain State football team captain in the cult TV comedy series. I’m not at all familiar with the series, but according to Deadline, Blue Mountain State is eyeing a comeback as a sequel series is being shopped.
Alan Ritchson would reprise his role for the Blue Mountain State sequel series, with Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also expected to return as Alex Moran and Sammy Cacciatore, respectively. The original series premiered on Spike TV (remember that?) in 2010 and aired for three seasons before it was cancelled. It followed three incoming freshmen attending Midwestern college football powerhouse Blue Mountain State who must quickly adapt to college life and juggle football, girls, classes, and nonstop hazing. Over the years, the series has gathered a cult following, even spawning a Kickstarter-funded follow-up movie, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland.

Cult college football series Blue Mountain State is making a comeback. A sequel to the 2010 comedy recently hit the TV marketplace, with Reacher’s Alan Ritchson set to reprise his role as Kevin “Thad” Castle. The original series’ co-leads Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also are expected to be back for the followup, from Lionsgate Television.
According to sources, the project has not fully landed yet with negotiations ongoing. The likely destinations are said to be Amazon, where Ritchson headlines hit series Reacher, and Netflix, where Blue Mountain State found new audience and cemented its cult status following its original three-season run on Spike.

Amazon Studios, Skydance TV and Paramount TV Studios have found their Jack Reacher. Alan Ritchson (Titans) has been tapped for the title role in Jack Reacher, the streamer’s drama series based on the character from Lee Child’s international bestselling series of books.
The first season of the series, written, exec produced and showrun by Nick Santora, is based on the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor, which is set in Georgia.
As conceived by Child, the imposing, 6’5″-tall, 210– to 250-pound character of Jack Reacher is a U.S. Army veteran investigating suspicious activities that frequently put him in danger. Exclusive: Quibi has given a series order to Florida Man (working title), a comedy series from Blue Mountain State writers Romanski (aka Chris Romano) and Drew Hancock, and Ace Entertainment.
Written by Hancock and Romano, this outrageous anthology comedy series rips real headlines from insane stories, and tells us the made up tale of how they came to be. Whether it is Florida Man Charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon for Throwing Alligator through Wendy’s Drive-Thru Window or Florida Man with “Do Not Resuscitate” Tattoo Creates Ethical Dilemma for Hospital Staff, these stories can only happen in Florida.
Ace Entertainment’s Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman executive produce with Jake Szymanski, Dylan Trussell and David Dinetz. Hancock, Romano and Paul Kim co-executive produce. Ace Entertainment is the studio.
Commercial directors Dinetz and Trussell initially conceived the idea for Florida Man.

In addition, Lisa Kudrow will serve as the show’s narrator.
Ratajkowski will play Sarah, described as a girl-next-door type but also with a behind-the-ear tattoo. She can just as easily bro out with the guys as she can be the girliest girl. Once upon a time, Spike introduced a show called Blue Mountain State that would later become one of my most re-watched addictions. No matter how many times Thad Castle ran the cookie race or hit Golden Arm with his truck, the Bms Goats hilariously reveled in their asinine, drug-fueled absurdity.
Sure, it’s fratty, brobeans comedy on steroids, but creators Eric Falconer and Chris “Romanski” Romano cover all their bases (or manage all their assignments?) rather well for a show built on relentless immaturity. That was until Spike unceremoniously axed the show after Season 3, and Bms fans were left without Alex Moran’s senior year.
It was then that Falconer, Romanski, and the faithful Goats started a Kickstarter fund to save Blue Mountain State, and they were met with an offering of $1.9 million from their devoted fanbase. This outpouring of generosity is why we now have the newly-released movie, Blue Mountain State: The Rise Of Thadland...

Blue Mountain State: The Rise Of Thadland is a drug-fueled dystopian comedy that would make Rob Gronkowski blush – we’re coming out of the gate guns-blazing on this one! Everything that television audiences love about the hard-partying Mountain Goats makes a return in Lev L. Spiro’s spinoff film, as creators Eric Falconer and Romanski leave a trail of cocaine dust while they unleash epic, Thad-Castle-approved anarchy.
It’s perversely familiar and relentlessly immature (in a good way), which is everything Bms fans have come to expect. We’re gifted an epic, multi-day party that reunites all our favorite characters, but with the calculated exclusion of on-field football antics, something feels slightly amiss. Not enough to detract immensely, just a little more welcomed playmaking to balance…ah, who am I kidding. You’re watching for the sloots and booze, and that’s exactly what you’ll get!
