The Ugly Underbelly
Hitchcoc26 October 2015
This series was made excellent by focusing on the realities of day to day events. We continue here the investigation into the murder by burning of a young man who has been victimized by those who would exploit a transgender/transvestite young person. We see the kind of underground personages who live in fear because they were grabbed up in their early childhood, probably because they saw themselves as worthless. Jane continues to pursue a man who has created a position of trust in order to literally get away with murder. This is a really touching episode because we are made privy to little boys and their angelic beings before all this happened. We also see how this element of the British society must cower and run from threats on a daily basis. We also see how they have no choice in who they are, sexually. There are some interesting dynamics within the police force that are interesting as well. Without spoiling anything, I will say that those who watch this may leave it with little satisfaction.
