Calm,No Much Action At All,But Game-Changing..

Warning: Spoilers
This is Soul Survivor, one of the most expected episode of season 10 so far, seeing the sneak peek of this episode some months ago was enough to trigger our excitement, well,it was GOOD,not what i expected, could've been better, but hey,i want to explain something for you,if you didn't like this episode and went moaning and crying "Ohh fire Carver, bring Erik back, ooh why am i still watching this show?",well here it goes...

First of all, this is a different kind of show,it is smart, its writing sometimes confuse us and we say we didn't like it,but in the end we understand and change our minds, believe me,this cure that happened, the conversations Dean and Sam had,it wasn't simply Curing The Deanmon or simple Conversations, the show has a plan up ahead, and again we're gonna get stoned with what we will see, believe my words because i been a fan of this show since it's gold years.

Think about these things before you start complaining,"Deanmon" was cured way too easy, wasn't it?, He still has the MoC doesn't him?, He will need to kill, when Sam was curing him,Deanmon got the point of humanity/demonic state that the handcuffs and the trap weren't holding him back anymore,so think about this, was Deanmon really cured? so stop complaining about what you don't understand....What you didn't like will open doors for many other story lines, the Brothers won't fight like they're used to.

THE ANGEL STORYLINE NEEDS TO STOP NOW.

Warning: Spoilers
Oh dear oh dear, two episodes of bland dull Castiel and Hana riding round the countryside watching each other sleeping and being useless to the world. No story line, Writers: This is supernatural not bridges over madison county for god's sake END IT. Anyway, you can do what I did, fast forward to the good bits. The good bits? Not that much action. Crowley battling with his humanity and Sam trying to save Dean. And of course that epic bit: Dean hunting Sam in the bunker-loved it (that is the only reason I gave this episode a 9). Why oh why have they ended demon Dean already ????

Best S10 Episode so far...

Warning: Spoilers
Personally, Supernatural was the first of all series I felt really drawn to. It had all of my desires; the supernatural, good acting, good stories, good humor, manly stuff and no strong female lead roles.

This show had the meaning of the bro code. If it hadn't been for that, I would have stopped watching after season 5.

There is still a lot of good stuff, but some of the episodes are just so... slow and restless. It's like being a kid, and making a scenario with you're favorite action man. The action man is still cool, but you're stuck in the scenario and can't really come up with that many good ideas for what to do next.

I really really enjoy the show, still - but it's not like in the good old Season 1-5 days. The Deanmon could have been a really good twist, but maybe they were afraid of making new scenarios were Sam and Dean weren't having their strong bro code anymore.

AND REGARDING THE NEW HELL; Where is the Hellraiser theme Dean talked about in Season 4? Seeing Crowley in a crypt being restless and angry at the other demons doesn't fulfill me. I wanna see blood, monsters, listening to tormented screams and have the feeling of constant hell fire.

I'm looking forward to the next episode anyways, with Season 9, they started having some stories again and maybe Season 10 can be the best of 5-10. But more action and less Crowley sulking in Hell.

Unfortunately, not impressive...

Warning: Spoilers
If I'm being brutally honest, I was not looking forward to this episode simply because of the writers. I have, in the past, openly criticized Buckner & Leming on their writing style and choices; and they are responsible for several of what I consider to be the worst Supernatural episodes. That isn't to say that all of their episodes are dreadful, they have had some good moments in the past, but I have not been too impressed with their work.

With that being said, Soul Survivor is the third episode of season 10, and a rather crucial episode for the Demon Dean arc. It was announced months ago by the writers and through PR that Dean's demon arc would only last 3 episodes, therefore making this the final of the three part "Deanmon" story. And how did it hold up? Well, I'm not going to lie, I was bored out of my skull.

The final act of Dean's 'dark' story should be a thrill ride from start to finish; like what we saw with the last episode 'Reichenbach', it is very possible to keep the tension and excitement building even without characters holding knives or guns up to each other. It is possible to have an episode hold your attention from start to end; and I regret to say that this episode did neither of the two.

Soul Survivor consists almost entirely of talking. Yes. Just talking, and talking, and more talking. And when they weren't having idle chit chat, the characters would often fill the time with exposition to explain plot holes or events that we weren't even concerned about.

We all saw the promo, we saw Dean tied to a chair with Sam attempting to heal him and then of course we saw Dean chasing Sam around the bunker with a hammer. Odd how the one thing they promoted took up so little of the episode. Instead of exciting, hair-raising action, I sat through about an hour of car rides, talking, random flashbacks (to episodes that just aired a week ago) and of course more talking.

Because, truly, when I am watching an episode about Dean being cured of his demon, The last thing I want to see is Sam mindlessly walking around the bunker and sulking over pictures of his brother.

The last thing I want to see is scenes filling up time that could be better spent on excitement and, dare I say, even a bit of horror.

The LAST thing I want to see is time wasted on more implications of an incestuous relationship between Castiel and his sister, Hannah.

On the plus side, there were some events - that I will refrain from talking about for spoilers sake - that happened in the episode which could potentially lead to interesting stories later on. If done right, the writers could keep the season rolling in a good direction.

Was this episode bad? No. Was it good? Also no. I was bored for about 90% of the episode. I wanted to watch an exciting climax to this extremely well built story arc. And I, for one, was not very impressed with what was delivered.

Should have stayed in the bunker
CubsandCulture23 September 2020
This is one of the few times that an episode would have been better if they simply cut the B story. Everything involving Castiel, Crowley ends up acting as a distraction of the melodrama that is happening with Sam and Dean. A strong script would have done more with the purification process. Despite some great acting from Padalecki and Ackles this feels like a missed opportunity.

Stupid Angels
danajs2414 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
OK this is the epitome of the new found angel lameness. Hannah is thrown into a snack shelf. She's gonna get up and help the decrepit Cas right? No, stick a fork in her she's done. So dumb. At least this was at the hands of another angel and not a pack of bums. I used to like the bromance between Crowley and Dean, but now it's gotten really creepy. Also, why is Dean screaming like a lion roaring? Or a bear? Seems pretty silly. Also, why did this batch of blood have to have a priest bless it? And why did the priest even do it? Not a little weird? Also I expected something other than Dean just "waking up" from demondom. Pretty weird episode all around. At least Cas got some more grace, I was sick of hearing Hannah worry and him deflect.

Awful awful demon characters and psycho dean
shwetafabm1 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand. I just don't understand why random characters in spn don't make any sense. Why does that demon care so much to burn himself off? Its a freaking demon. Neither did that demon who wanted to be buddies make any sense. The snorefest that is Anna and Castiel. Cut that screentime in and it would actually be good but no. Also i am so over the senseless killings like the ones with the rogue angels or whatever. Why does Dean say to Sam that Lester lost his soul? No soul, Crowley said that and Sam should know how it works but ok. Why in the world are these two talking about killing Dean? Why? Why would they think a normal demon blade would work when it didn't on Abaddon? Why? Why do we not see for even one minute the cool powers Dean would have from the mark? What was that rewind with Crowley from the 5 minute screentime we have had with the guy? The best thing was obviously the bunker chase. Crowley helping Cass was a good twist too. But damn when did this show become so much of a drama with abusrd nonsensical characters. Demons are a complete joke now.
