I think there are more documentaries on Monty Python than episodes of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Interviews from various members of the team dating back to 1999 indicated that the members of the team were unlikely to reform.
In 2014 they did get together to perform some special shows in London. This documentary was about the team getting together for those performances and the promotion of it.
It was refreshing to hear that they were honest as to the reason why the got together. It was all about money. Eric Idle mentions that they suffered big legal costs after a producer of the Holy Grail film sued them over the share of the royalties on the Spamalot musical. Also John Cleese still had alimony issues.
Despite their advancing years and various ailments the audience loved the shows, the Daily Mail was snooty about it.
I watched this repeat that was shown as a tribute after the death of Terry Jones. It was not noticeable then how far he was gone with his type of dementia. So 2014 marks the last time the remaining Pythons got together and this was a good rundown on the Monty Python team in their later years.
