Although no word from the production that this was done on purpose, there are many subtle clues and double-entendre references in this movie that would imply that Zachary really is Superman. Brandon Routh played both roles.

- Camera angle makes it appear like he has a cape floating about him when he's scrutinizing the paint on the wall.
- When he unzips at the end, as he decidedly walks toward the camera.
- He didn't lie.
- Mistletoe is his kryptonite.
- Certain otherworldly stares as the camera closes in on his eyes.
- When he rushes to save Marilee from the shopping cart careening her way.
- When Marilee tells him, "you're a hero", referring to him being a fireman.
- When he says, "I'm not at all what I seem."
- When Sarah tells Marilee, "How many more clues do you need?"
In this movie, Kimberley Sustad played Stephanie Bennett's sister. In Dark of Night (2014) of Signed, Sealed, Delivered (2013), Sustad played Bennett's mother.
Ambrose was played by a cat named Trace. Trace has appeared in several movies and commercials.
Bosley's is the name of a real life pet store chain, although the business portrayed in this movie has no relation to the real life Bosley's beyond the pet store scenes being filmed at an actual Bosley's.
