Interesting times
tenshi_ippikiookami6 February 2016
Too many characters. This episode shows that "The 100" is in danger of having too many characters. Now that Jaha is on Aladdin's land, we have the extra "sand people" to take into account. On top of that, there haven't been many "important" casualties in the characters's body count, so we have a very stretched list (we just need some interesting Reapers...). Consequence: characters that disappear. For example, in the previous episode, Raven was conspicuous by her absence.

That's not to say that the episode is a bad one. Jaha's storyline is a mysterious and interesting one, and it remembers us that there's supposed to be people affected by radiation (visible consequences). The "sand people" may be an important part of the show from now on. Or they may be not. But their addition has helped in showing a new part of this beautiful-horrible-dangerous world the people from the Ark have gotten back to.

Anya and Clarke's prison break is also interesting enough. Two strong people, who hate each other but have to join forces against another one. The enemy of my enemy... Are they going to make a real team, is their interaction going to help in the Grounders-Ark relationship? The episode teases us with one and the other, and it is the better for it.

Strangely, there are also some (more than normal) incongruities in things that happen in the episode. But they can be forgiven for now, as the level keeps being good.

The 100 always about survival.
ououzaza1 March 2020
People do things in order to survive. The 100 shows that. And plans are not always accurate. Everything can change all the times. Nothing is certain.

I like Anya. I was so mad when they killed her like that

Warning: Spoilers
So the grounder clans are all in the eastern US - the mountains that we're always seeing are supposed to be near Appalachia I believe. The Dead Zone is a nuclear wasteland of what used to be the mid-west, which extends all the way to the west coast theoretically. The EP explained the landscape a few years ago and some fans drew a mock-up on the wiki of what the territory would look like, and it was concluded that the show almost exclusively takes place in continental North America. Really enjoyed this one. I was very sad they killed Anya, I really liked her (I like the actress). I wish we had gotten more Clarke and Anya time, those two just kept me guessing who is going to snap first and kill the other. The adults messed up Clarke's plan, of course. I thought it was insanely stupid to just shoot at anything that moves, what if it was one of their kids? Murphy still has me yelling at him no matter what he does, I guess that's a habit now and won't change easily. Some died, some were saved, a typical the 100 episode.

This show is all about pain, survival, redemption and forgiveness
Neptune16517 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I used to hate Bellamy too lol same with Murphy but everyone has their way of growing on you :) And the one thing you need to remember about Clarke is everything she does, she does because of her father. Remember in season 1, she needs and wants to save everyone because she couldn't save her dad. Plus she also has natural leader skills and uses her head instead of emotions like Bellamy and that's why a lot of people get frustrated with Clarke, but her mind is only focused on her friends/people and staying alive even if it means hurting peoples feelings along the way. But that's what makes Clarke and Bellamy the best leaders together! Yes, Clarke can fight. Remember when she fought the Ark guards in the Pilot, when she thought they were taking her to be floated? About geography, Tondc, Lincoln's village, is Washington DC (Washing...tonDC), Dead zone, where Jaha is, is north from there around New York (when he landed you could see the top of one of the bridges, I think Manhattan Bridge, in distance).

People are retarded in this show...
rostas-balazs15 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The idea behind this TV show is very good, and has a lot of potential. But I just can't stand the amount of plot holes and the stupidity of the people. They have this amazing technology in the future, they lived in the space, but when they are on earth they act like a bunch of mentally handicapped people.

SPOILER:

When people just shot Clark and Anya without even shouting who's there or something..... I mean REALLY? How could the writers think is what people would normally do. And these people are the guard who are in theory "trained", so they can't even argue they did this because they have no experience and were afraid.

I'm very disappointed.

Post-apocalyptic chick flick spread over 100 unbelievably idiotic episodes.
sogoodlooking29 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In this horrifyingly poorly written episode several characters can't figure out to simply lower a rope to a girl trapped on a cliffside because they don't understand she could simply make a loop at the end of that rope w/ a knot in it then sit in that loop or put it around her waist as they pull her up. Amazing. They actually can't figure this out. And we're supposed to believe these characters survived the end of the world under the most dangerous circumstances.

Instead, they send a 150 pound boy down to add to the weight they're trying to pull up. They've got two boys remaining at the top of the cliff trying to hoist 270 pounds something like 50 yards straight up, plus the friction of the rope on the cliff edge.

Impressively enough, none of these survivor geniuses actually check the rope's knot up top, and the boy falls to his death.

Later in the episode, and very soon after major spinal surgery to relieve her paralysis, the paralyzed patient leaps out of bed. Then she climbs all the way up a signal tower.

After that, Chancellor Dpsht is perfectly understanding when the scut family betrays him for the bounty on him. It's idiotic. Talk about surrendering the opportunity to write a good scene of lament and anger.

The scenario and the ideas for the characters actually aren't bad, but the writing itself is simply horrendous. ---I can't wait to see Alycia Debnam-Carey as the grounders' new Queen. This is going to be absolutely surreal.
