- WinterMute can at some times get very disturbing, especially after the crash in chapter one, your character pulls a shard out of his hand leaving a huge bloody hole with veins visible.
- The game throughout is realistically violent and disturbing, even with its graphics. The games T Rating is in my opinion very close to M.
- The game has some emotional scenes, also maybe extremely gruesome.
- The opening cutscene shows a rotting deer with intestines and organs visible.
- In Chapter 3, a dead prison guard can be found shanked with blood surrounding his body.

- Episode 4 of Story mode has some usage of f--k. This can be filtered off from the settings.
- The game frequently swears Damn (also goddamn) and Hell are Both in survival and WinterMute, but the stronger swears (Shit, Dick, Prick) come From WinterMute.
