Everything was in place
homaKP10 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I usually don't write reviews for TV dramas. especially not just after i finished watching it. but i had to. This was probably my most favorite episode in all 5 seasons and 2 episodes so far. it was perfect. The Vampire Diaries usually have at least one absolutely irresistible episode per season. but to have everything in place: it had never happened before.

there's so much happening in this episode. and it must've been really difficult to reveal a mystery step by step about Bonnie and Damon's side, let Elena go backward through her memories to find one single moment, keep every step with Stefan in finding out what a disappointing brother and friend he had been and letting us know Caroline and Jeremy are having just as hard of a time as everybody else; and at the same time, keeping everything contiguous. EVERYTHING was in place. i didn't feel interrupted at any point at all.

i liked the fact that they chose THAT moment for Elena to fall in Love with Damon and Loved that erasing it turned her feelings towards him upside-down.

for me this episode was simple and natural, yet mysterious, beautiful and catchy. if only they'd keep such quality for all episodes, TVD would be more than one of the best shows out there.

Another good episode but I did fell the whole memory storyline could have been left in the writers room but over I dthink its a good episode in terms of building up the season.

Damon WAS a monster.

Warning: Spoilers
The way he handled rejection and manipulated people to have his way... He was a psychopath, and no amount of corny scenes under mellow ballads, will ever change that fact. Stefan had his faults, but he never went after Elena's family members. Which is why I will never understand how writers thought it was a good idea to have her pick him. Through the sire bond, I get it. She had a lot of affection for him, and her heightened emotions towards him, translated into love, when she was resuscitated with his blood. But the way they went, was clearly fan service, and insulting to some viewers intelligence. Season 6 is more focused than the last couple of seasons, but the fans pandering remained, and the spark was simply gone, which was what ruined most of it. And in « Yellow Ledbetter », the way Caroline and Enzo bullied Stefan into doing something he didn't want to do, was the beginning of both characters assassination for me. Also, couldn't the show runners be more obvious, picking a girl that was Dobrev's spitting image from a different ethnicity, to play Stefan's new girlfriend? Even the songs got on my nerves in this episode, but everything not regarding Elena was good overall. Like most of the show since her character was turned, anyway...

Warning: Spoilers
We see a memory of Elena and Damon kissing. Caroline drives to Enzo where he is found kissing the garment check out girl with her bra exposed. He kisses down her chest when Caroline appears. Enzo has a plan and takes Caroline to where Stefan has been living for months without telling anyone. Damon and Bonnie find out from a newspaper they keep reliving a day in 1994. Bonnie found her old bear she lost as a child and cutely shows Damon. Elena's home and the Mystic Grill have not been burnt down. Matt finds the girl who was bitten by Elena at the place where he is staying with Jeremy. She is in her bra and nonchalantly puts on a top. Alaric compels Elena to forget her strong feelings for Damon.
