The Bussaco National Woods in Portugal is a magical place with centuries of history where kings declare their love and the Napoleon army was defeated by the British/Portuguese forces. The monks that lived in a monastery nearby planted 105 acres of forest with specimens from all over the world, some of them are endemic to the Iberian Peninsula and considered to be a world heritage by UNESCO. Very quickly Bussaco transformed itself into an ecosystem and a wildlife oasis.
