Gloria is feeling the pressure to fire Rodrigo and bring back Thomas as for the opening concert of the season, Rodrigo still has not chosen what they will play, and he wants Gloria to postpone the appearance of renowned pianist, Winslow Elliott, from that season opener. What Gloria decides to do about Rodrigo is affected by receiving a letter from Thomas' wife, that letter which has a specific task for Cynthia. What Cynthia finds on this task isn't quite what she expects. Neurotic Winslow also takes his own actions in dealing with what he sees as Rodrigo's indecisiveness. Meanwhile, Hailey has her first lesson with Betty, and in turn gives her first what looks to be very lucrative lesson to Marlon Guggenheim. Neither lesson turns out quite the way she expects, that lucrative aspect of the lesson to Marlon coming in a way other than money.
