Quality Action

This episode shows Rebels returning to a higher level of more grown up entertainment as it had reached in a few episodes throughout this first season.

We get much darker material, more seriousness and more impactful storytelling than in the comedic filler episodes. Stories like this brings something worthwhile to the Star Wars universe.

Grand Moff Tarkin makes a great entrance and the mix of action, good dialogue, character drama and a powerful cliffhanger make this a high quality episode.

My rating: 9/10.

Call to Action

Here was another great episode. Not only did this episode start out with a cool introduction to Grand Moff Tarkin, but it also started out with a good old-fashioned slap in the face, which I loved. This episode saw the crew being more concerned about really finding others like them, and according to some, there are others, so this is the first time we get a bigger picture of what is going on outside of Lothal. At the same time, this was also the first time we really saw these Imperials being ruthless, as Tarkin decided to take action against those who had failed to capture the rebels. The entire episode felt like it was approaching the end and I appreciate that they are really focused on closing out this storyline with a bang. A lot of things are going to come and a lot of things are going to be even bigger when Season 2 rolls around, but for now, let's focus on this season. They could still fail, but so far, they are doing the right things. I think this was a great episode, and I liked how it really felt like it was the beginning of the end and that this may not end all too well for our main crew.

Great episode. The stakes actually felt high and the pacing was very level with the plotting. Tarkington showing up in random Star Wars series' from now on is kind of fun too. Hopefully this show can be lighthearted and still capture the darker tone of this galaxy far, far away like all of the movies and other shows have done.
