Classic community
tabraham4419 May 2015
First off I am privileged to start this review by saying WHAT A FANTASTIC EPISODE. This to date was easily the best episode of the season and didn't disappoint when compared to the other paintball episodes. It was basically perfect in every way, even though the ending was a bit choppy. The change that this season has been making is still prevalent throughout the entirety of the episode, but it brought but classic paintball still. Personally I think this season has been great and this just adds to the paintball legacy, completely wiping away the season 4 mishap paintball episode. This was perfectly done by Harmon and I found myself laughing the entire episode. The ending was a bit lack luster, but this easily goes down as one of those community's you can watch back-to-back and still enjoy the second time as much as the first, I know I'm about to watch it again.

Community is back!
mbntz-0467027 May 2015
Season 6 of Community has been very hit or miss so far, but this paintball episode, knocks it out of the park. After 4 long years since a paintball episode, the format has returned, and with magnificent results. This is definitely the best episode from Season 6, and I can't wait to see the next 2 episodes left in the 6th Season. However, watching Community makes me sad, because this hilarious and very well written show was cancelled, to make more room for the garbage show that is the big bang theory. And I refuse to capitalize the title of that show, because I've lost all respect for it, especially since it stole the spotlight from Community, but I hope that at least a year after this season ends, the movie can come out.

Best Episode of the season so far

For the most part, this was another great installment in the paintball sub-series. The underground nature of the tournament and spy-take was exciting, but the ending was a bit of a letdown.

Paintball Eps Always Deliver
drnikic9 April 2021
Every season of Community has had dips or peaks, they were smaller in the first 3 seasons, but even though Dan Harmon returned they were more pronounced in S6. This is definitely a peak. It's not as joyous as previous paintball eps, but it still provides plenty of enjoyment, whilst showing that the characters have changed and matured. A bit. These eps are always great at taking the pee out of movie tropes.

Reaching the end
safenoe26 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't count the reasons I should say, one by one they all just fade away. I seriously think Community is in contention for the GOAT of TV series, and season 6 was quite poignant, knowing the series was reaching the end really.

Here this is the third instalment of the Modern Warfare - so a trilogy in fact like the original Star Wars trilogy I guess. What makes this episode rather poignant is that we're reaching the end of Community, one of the greatest series of all time - GOAT.

The elevator scene was hilarious and I imagine the edits made the scene. Dean Pelton was amazing.

Six seasons and a movie please.

Great episode, stale conclusion
greggkul11 November 2022
Once I saw the intro scene, I already knew that paintball was back in full swing. I didn't think I'd see another paintball episode, since season 4 pretty much ruined it for the rest of the show. But, this was established as a very entertaining episode. The new characters fit into it mostly well, and it was cool seeing a completely underground paintball game, as compared to the past where it was completely organized and everything was destroyed in an apocalyptic style. The sort of spy theme was great and the elevator scene too. Jeff and the Dean were two characters that I would least expect trying to chase down some City College villain, but it still works. The whole thing was building up to some grand conclusion, but just when it was about to reach, it failed.

A lot of shows have good episodes that set up very well, but end up having a bad conclusion. Community is not known to do this at all, but this was the time they did do it. I can see why they might have wanted to mix it up and not do another city college fight thing, but overall, the ending just felt so wasted. Frankie is a very confusing character. I will probably get some hate from saying this, but it's not like you can reply to it anyway. The problem with Frankie is that the writers are never sure what to do with her. Sometimes her role works, but often they just can't decide what she is supposed to be. In this episode she's supposed to be completely against paintball and that's the whole thing. At the end she catches them and tells them to stop, forgetting about the whole silverballz, city college, underground paintball game, all of it. Sure, the end scene when they're dressed as babies is kind of funny, but the conclusion was just so wasted in terms of its potential. This wasn't setup to be an episode about Frankie knowing what's right, so it shouldn't end as one.

Not sure if my final rating will be a 6 or a 7
jpapanone2 February 2021
Nothing else has broken a 5 rating in season 6. This had all the earmarks of a great, classic Community paintball episode... but it had all of that nasty season 6 juice all over it.

Whatever the paintball did to bring this episode up... the season 6-ness of it, just brought it down.

Loved the actual paintball scenes... but was rather forgettable, as opposed to the other paintball episodes that were not only great...but easily rewatchable. Nothing in season 6 had much rewatchableness... though the dean in the elevator was awesomely Die Hard.

So how does it end?
vld_bc23 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
ALL Season 6 has been a pain to watch and this just adds to it. Okay, another paintball game, so how does the paintball end, what's the outcome? where does the baby gear come from? So many questions one just had to quit asking i guess

Who was the Silver Ballz guys? Why were they all dressed as babies at the end.

Vikki and Garrett deserved to be booed, their set was terrible.
