Full of Action Episode

Eichhorst finds a means to breach and invade Red Hook with Kelly and a group of vampires targeting the power plant to shutdown the power energy and turns the place into blackout. While Justine organizes the defense with the local population, Fet, Eph and Nora try to restore the power. Meanwhile Setrakian confronts his old enemy Eichhorst.

"Battle for Red Hook" is a full of action episode of "The Strain". The vampires are defeated by Justice and the local resistance but Eichhorst again escapes from Setrakian and Eph repeating the clichés. Kelly insists in taking Zach with her but the annoying boy seems to be smarter. My vote is nine.

The strigoi battle

This review contains spoilers for The Strain episode "The Battle for Red Hook".

After the incursion by a vampire Kelly Goodweather, Setrakian believes a strigoi attack is imminent. Red Hook is attacked by the strigoi causing the heroes to scramble to its defense. The method of the strigoi disabling the power on the island is incredibly baffling. The strigoi are not able to cross bodies of water on their own. However Kelly and Eichorst are able to convince a man to transport a group of strigoi onto the island. This is a step too far as at this point of the story the inhabitants know of the danger the strigoi pose and what they look like. This guy should never have agreed to transport the group.

Besides this, the episode is still fun to watch and can be enjoyed. I would recommend watching this episode.

Reaction / Review for The Strain Season 2 Episode 9 ''Battle for Red Hook'' (S2. E9): Episode 8 was good and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Are we getting ready for a big showdown? I hope so. The big fight scene is insane but I think the fact that Feraldo asked the citizens for help is kind of dumb. She asked them and then suddenly she had a small army, it's kind of hard to believe. Did Vasiliy get infected? I hope not. Kelly is fast. Wait, does Eph has jewish ancestry like Setrakian? I didn't expect that. If the answer is yes that's another reason for Eichorst to try and kill him. This battle was a huge win for the humans, but im sure the Master will come up with a new plan. Overall a great episode, my rating is 8.6/10.

Neutron bombs are never a bad idea.

Drop a hundred dozen on NYC. Kill every undead and living thing and leave the buildings standing. Sure all the non vamps are dead too but it's the only way to be sure. Then after a few weeks lather rinse repeat. Once the Gamma radiation dissipates scoop up the corpses and start over.
