Pretty bad ceremony Warning: Spoilers
Here wwe have the event that officially went by the name "28th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards". It aired in March 2015, so now it is over five years old. The director is Nikki Parsons, who is really experienced with stuff like that and also directed BAFTA ceremonies already for example. I would say that this one here is perhaps her most disappointing career effort. So I am glad that it as a pretty brief show. It only ran for 66 minutes and if you count commercial breaks as well, then perhaps for 1.5 hours. They sure did the young viewers' attention span justice, but also for grown-ups like myself I am glad they did not unnecessarily stretch the entire thing. Yes, it was this bad. The host was Nick Jonas and it already started in the most cringeworthy manner possible when we see several celebrities and they keep repeating the host's name, which is also a reference to the channel you can see in the title here. Actually, they could have made an interesting and funny reference there with Nick hosting this award show, but the actual outcome was just a mess really. Things do get even worse when Nick gives a totally forgettable performance and afterwards asks the announcer to say again that he is hosting the show. That was the joke. Nothing else. Incredibly unfunny. The good news is that Jonas was almost missing for the rest of the show despite being the host. The bad (really bad news) was that they even gave him an award for his singing later on. Unreal stuff. This was really the moment when I laughed because it was this bad. The really sad thing though is that I have a feeling that the only ones in the audience that day who disagreed with said Jonas Brother winning such a "prestigious" award were the ones who think one of the other Jonas Brothers is a better singer. Sad state of affairs. Anyway, him getting this award also sheds a whole new light on his joke about "The Jonas Brother" early on, doesn't it. Oh sorry, that was mean. Of course I am still mourning about One Direction breaking up.

Okay, so I already said that the first performance of the night was pretty crappy and things don#t get much better later on with Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson, which is definitely a bit sad how poor they were because especially the latter is not a bad singer by any means. And finally, 5 Seconds of Summer really aren't any better and make sure the show ends as forgettable as it started. In-between, there are the awards and there is lots of slime too like every year. As for the awards, it is definitely highly suspicious. I have a feeling that they simply honored those who were there or, the other way around and more likely I believe, asked who would come and gave them the awards. But in any case, it had nothing to do with fair competition. The best example is Modern family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson accepting an award. I like this show (still), so I won't complain, but let me say that his "thanks for not sliming us" made very clear that he knew he was gonna be on stage and he knew there were gonna be slimed immediately afterwards. Okay what else can i say here. I must admit that many shows/winner I wasnt even familiar with at all, especially television series or so. Also those three who were part of the poll. Then again, seeing how poor "Dog with a Blog" (that show only exists because of the rhyme right?) looked with how the dog was talking, I am positive I am not missing much if I skip all the nominees. Most of them are probably as bad as this one here. By the way, also from the very start pretty much I was reminded how Zendaya has absolutely no right to be famous. No clue why she still is. I guess she is just hanging out with the right people. Back to the awards, another thing I don't like at all is when they simply announce a winner after the commercial break. It is not so cool because they won't get to hold a speech, but I guess they simply picked those who weren't there anyway to be announced like this, which makes it somewhat okay, but also not too fair for the other nominees there. Nonetheless, let me say that I am glad I did not have to see a Jennifer Lawrence speech. Her win is as bad as Jonas' I guess. And even if I like Emma Stone, I cannot agree that her performance in Spider-Man 2 was anything really extraordinary. But it was good they got her. This was closely before her Oscar win and she surely was a big star already back then. Garfield did not win, perhaps because he was not there. Foxx did not win either, but he as there. Early on, we see him with his kids. Angelina Jolie brought her kids as well, a whole lot of them indeed, so a bit of a tendency maybe to not show up on your own if you have offspring. Okay, what else can I say? Chris Pratt was as annoying as he is most of the time. By the way, still surprised he lost his category as he was there, but then again Liam Hemsworth was present too. Jennifer Lopez, in her mid-40s here, still looked incredibly attractive no denying. More eye candy included Laura Marano and Chloe Bennet and if we add up their ages back then, they were still younger than Lopez. Oh yeah, another thing I don't like is when they have one person on the stage for winning an awards and then say "blah blah by the way you also won for another". This happened (at least) twice here. Again disrespectful to the other nominees. Okay, overall this was not a good show by any means. I hope my above brainstorming can make it clear to you why I did not like it at all. I have seen other Kids Choice Awards editions and they were almost always superior in terms of quality, also in terms of how the slime was used. So I give this one a fat thumbs-down. Absolitely not recommended. There is only one accurate approach here and this includes you to skip this program at any costs. Also it is certainly nothing you'd want your kids to see if you are a caring parent. Maybe it was fun for those who were actually there and experienced it live, I will not deny that, but it should definitely not be seen on the screen.
