Danno's back and as far as I'm concerned, the slump in the series is over.

A California agent comes to Hawaii to track down an arsonist who has moved his operation to that state. It turns out that the woman agent lost her husband when he had set her home ablaze as well. The ending hotel scene was quite exciting and scary.

Danno has a new girlfriend but unknown to him, she has quite a past. She has a restraining order out on her former husband, who abused her repeatedly. The guy shows up and Danno takes a knife in the stomach for his efforts. Yet, true love seems to prevail as our lady apologizes for keeping Danny in the dark about her life-including giving him a bogus name for her.

I like that show very much, don't get me wrong, but what's annoying is the ongoing ridiculous amateurishness. They have no problem to open fire in the midst of a crowd, and after hundreds of machine gun rounds, nobody got hit, but every car and storefront is broken. And making arrests .... come on, why don't you scream a mile ago: "hey, we are coming, in case you want to flee!" - They park their cars with squeaking tires, don't care about securing back doors, stare at the suspect with hand on the gun, and shout from 100 yards "5-0, don't move!" - Surprise, the suspect takes off. I understand, this is the opportunity to film action scenes, but really, it's annoying, no policeman on earth would be such an amateur.
