The documentary had an initial budget of £7000, which was raised via crowdfunding platform Indiegogo in just two weeks.
The film was conceived by co-director Paul Sng after he interviewed Sleaford Mods on 25 October, 2015 for Gigslutz TV with co-director Nathan Hannawin. At the end of December, Sng approached the band with the idea for a documentary that would follow the band on a tour of neglected areas of the UK in the run up to the 2015 General Election. Once the band had agreed the filmmakers had just 6 weeks to plan pre-production and raise funding.
Filmed at the following Sleaford Mods gigs in 2015: Sugarmill, Stoke (26 Feb), Roadmender, Northampton (27 Feb), The Underground, Barnsley (28 Feb), The Hop, Wakefield (2 Mar), The Kazimier, Liverpool (3 Mar), The Georgian Theatre, Stockton-on-tees (4 Mar), The Duchess, York (5 Mar), Cafe Indiependent (6 Mar), Cardiff University (10 Mar), O2 Academy, Oxford (11 Mar), The Joiners, Southampton (12 Mar), The Arts Centre, Colchester (13 Mar), Crawfurd Arms, Milton Keynes (14 Mar), The Scene, Lincoln (21 Mar), The Forum, Tunbridge Wells (2 Apr).
