A tribute to the Hawaiian culture

This episode is peppered with proverbs of the Hawaiian people, and the two stories intertwine almost beautifully; if there would have been less of a preaching tone. Or if they would have moved more action into the meth story, and left the operations room out of the Kono one. One story gets darker, the other stays in the light.

Kono and Chin are in the foreground this time, the rest of the team is filling in, so its time you send the action boys for the beer, and enjoy the bits of wisdom & the shots of the beautiful (and menacing) sea. Aloha.

The basic problem with this episode was that the two stories that were told were given insufficient time. Kono's trip in the water was way too long. Was she actually going to become a Mrs. Robinson Crusoe? Her part of the story could have been told in 15 minutes. We're given constant flashbacks of Kono taking instructions from her now ailing mother. Those flashbacks that she draws from allows her to survive.

The other segment of the episode dealt with a son's revenge for his father going to jail. When the latter is freed, the son plots against him for ruining his life and of course winds up ruining his own. This was an extremely interesting premise which needed more time to develop.

Waste of an episode

Half of the episode was dedicated to Kono. Unfortunately Grace Park, the actress who plays the part has 2 expressions...either bewildered or unknowing. Every action she takes make dumb blondes in all the horror films look brilliant. I really don't know why I continue to watch this show. Maybe it is just for the dudes in speedos.

What a waste of an hour

Boring doesn't begin to describe this episode 👎. Maybe Kono should have drowned, then it might have been more enjoyable
