- Narrator: [Opening Narration. Viewers see a Greyhound Bus pull into the Tucson, Arizona depot. Several passengers disembark, among them, Richard Kimble] Now six months a Fugitive, this is Richard Kimble with a new identity and, for as long as it is safe, a new name - James Lincoln. He thinks of the day when we might find the man with one arm. But now is now, and this is how it is with him.
- [Viewers see Kimble, suitcase in hand, walks through the bus depot]
- Narrator: Another journey - another place. Walk neither too fast nor too slow. Beware the eyes of strangers. Keep moving.
- [Kimble leaves the bus station and furtively glances around]
- Narrator: Get your bearings. Decide. Move.
- [Kimble reaches a hotel entrance]
- Narrator: The right one - or will it be a mistake? Is this the trap where it will end?
- [Kimble checks in at the desk and enters room 26]
- Narrator: Safe - for now. Another room.
- [Kimble glances out a window]
- Narrator: Windows look out - and look in.
- [Kimble pulls down the shade]
- Narrator: Get busy.
- [Kimble opens his suitcase on the bed and removes a shaving kit which includes a bottle of hair dye. He goes into the bathroom and carefully examines his face and hair in the mirror]
- Narrator: Look closely. Be sure of this: they'll never stop looking. He'll never stop. Not Lieutenant Gerard.
- [Continuing Act One Narration following a scene with Lt. Gerard and his superior, Capt. Carpenter. Viewers see Kimble opening a newspaper's Classified Ads page]
- Narrator: Ready? A job. What will it be?
- [Kimble circles an ad that reads "Bartender - Work Nights. The Branding Iron. 109 South Scott Street."]
- Narrator: Be ready for the questions and hope there won't be too many.
- Narrator: [Epilog Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble, suitcase in hand, walking down a city street at night. He pauses a moment to pet a stray kitten] Now six months, two weeks, and another thousand miles a Fugitive, this is Richard Kimble. And this is how it is with him.
