Beautifully Ended!
faiqaakmal17 May 2015
After four amazing seasons TVD kinda seemed to have lost it's plot. There was no proper story line and the writers just kept on dragging the show. After being disappointed from season 5 i had hopes that maybe season 6 will have something in store to keep the fans hooked to the show. But yet again the first few episodes of season 6 were not enough satisfactory and captivating for the fan to keep watching. But despite of all the let-downs, I must say that they finished off the season amazingly. The episode was full of thrill, action and sorrow. All the goodbyes said by Elena were very heartbreaking to watch. Honestly i don't know how they'll continue the show when the main girl is out, and that's just what might get me excited to watch the next season!I have high hopes for steroline and a TVD and The originals crossover. Until then we have to wait patiently.

The most genius way to send off a character from a TV show yet.

Warning: Spoilers
Getting straight to it... The way they sent Nina Dobrev off the show was the most brilliant idea, and I very much appreciate the genius mind who thought of it! The typical killing off of a character is so overdone - this was such a breath of fresh air and I'm sure it took most people by surprise. I'd have to give major credit to anyone who had seen it coming or had a similar idea. The very genius of it is a 9/10 stars for me already. (Like what else can the mind of the person who thought of it come up with?? A cure for cancer??). It's not a perfect 10, because the way the writers chose to have Elena say her final goodbyes was a little too confusing and disconnected for me. But that's just how I feel + other options were limited considering she's not actually living (at the moment). I watched it a while ago, so I couldn't give an accurate opinion on how the acting was. Regardless, the episode left a positive impression on me, so much so, that I'm writing my first IMDb review on it. Great episode to go down in TV season finale history.

Confused!

Warning: Spoilers
Now, If a witch casts a spell, I thought it'd be expired/undone when when he's died, right? This didn't happen with Kai and his spell (linking Bon/Elena).

Great way to end a pretty bad season.

Warning: Spoilers
OKay, I'll start off the review by saying that this is by far the best episode of this season, and to some, the whole series. This episode has both intense action and beautiful, touching moments. The exciting parts are mostly from the aftermath of Jo and Alaric's wedding where several conflicts and exciting twists occur. First off we have everyone's favorite new Villain Kai who's in danger several times this episode but always seems to have a plan B. Even though there's a lot of good action, the episode is mostly built around revisits and references to old happier times that occurred earlier. This jumping between happy/touching moments and intense action sequences can, to me, only be compared to the season three finale "The Departed". Of course, this wouldn't be "The Vampire Diaries" if the season didn't end with a cliffhanger but to my surprise, it wasn't as brutal and annoying as I thought it would be. As a matter of fact, that ending scene gave me new hope for a show I had lost faith in for a very long time.

Kai-Ries
heniekb20 April 2018
I must admit i only watched Season 6 to see Chris Wood and in that respect it was worth it. His impersonation of Kai is the most interesting part of the whole season. I have no clue what happened before and I after watching this season I don't really care. Apart from the villains so Kai, Enzo & Lily none of the characters seem to bring any joy to the series. Especially Caroline & Stefan are totally blunt and lifeless. It kept me guessing how can they survived for so long but you know... they are vampires so this could be the only reason. Bonnie's character beat even them. You just sit wondering how can you root for someone like her. Funny enough without the backdrop of earlier episodes you couldn't care less for her. I'm inclined to support the villains and Season 6 proved me right.

Loved the Elena send off but for real can we talk about how they do poor Alaric. Through the whole show he's just gotten the crap end of the stick :(

God help me...

Warning: Spoilers
That dance sequence made my skin crawl and my blood boil. Remember when I said season 6 was more focused? Well that was before Plec and Dries wrote this dud of a season finale. I don't know what annoyed me the most. The fact that Elena wasn't simply killed off, because let's be honest, she'd just overstayed her welcome in the show. Or even Stefan making everything about Damon, to the point where he becomes a secondary character in his own show (not, it's not Damon's. Fangirls wanted it that way, but the more writers abounded with that idea, the less believable it got) and a matchmaker to his brother and the girl he was madly in love with, a year ago... And can we just talk about the elephant in the room, please? Elena was sired to Damon (which is impossible to break, because it was done by blood), so she should've remembered everything about her relationship with Stefan, not him, after she took the vampire cure (?? Another stupid storyline) and became human again. This is why I hate shows with female show runners, they always come off as very immature and twisting facts to fit their own agenda. And in the show's case, the way characters already established by the previous team of writers, acted. I honestly don't mind about Stefan falling for Caroline, because the actors sold it perfectly. However, Damon and Elena's looked awkward onscreen and their intimate moments felt like ploys trying to outweighed the disingenuousness you felt. Killing off Jo was written in stone I guess, because it led to everything we would see on The Legacies series, but still, why just her and the rest of her coven? Were they so desperately eager to get to the heretics storyline? Tyler becoming a werewolf again, was for nothing, because Kai could cipher the venom's magic (? Ok...) and what's with the cheap production lately? You can see everything is shot in studios now. I'm expecting to get to season 7 soon, but knowing Elena isn't there anymore already makes me want to revisit it even more. Damon still pining over her throughout though, not so much... I'm not going to show leniency on the soundtrack either, because the best song was used in such an atrocious scene, it completely ruined its appeal for me.

Last sleepover with the girls
vivianla25 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
My god this episode was so painful to watch.

Elena is unconscious although the doctors say she is of perfect health. Bonnie shows Matt the video she found from Kai. He has linked Bonnie with Elena - Elena will wake up only when Bonnie dies. Matt urges Bonnie to leave right now but she goes to find Kai instead.

Liv pleads with Tyler to kill her so he can turn into a werewolf, saving his own life. She is going to die with the rest of her coven because Kai is going to die.

Alaric has put Jo in the car and has taken a gun out of the glove box. He shoots Kai multiple times but Kai has become a vampire with witch abilities.

Damon demands Kai to tell him how to undo the spell. Kai is dying from Tyler's bite and asks how to heal - Damon mentions he can get the fix in New Orleans (where Klaus is residing as shown in The Originals show).

At the wedding venue, Damon slices Kai's head off and it satisfyingly falls off. Damon comes to Bonnie's aid and gives her blood.

The group has laid Elena in a coffin and are each having last memories with Elena by letting her get into their minds. Elena has conjured a sleepover scene with Caroline and Bonnie and it is so sad - Elena wants them to write about their lives in a journal so she can read it when she wakes up. She sees Matt at Wickery Bridge where he tearfully says this might be the last time they see each other. Elena says given what they have survived through, she will take it. She meets Stefan in the woods with the body of water where they climbed the hill before.

Elena is placed in the Salvatore crypt where Bonnie will put a spell in it so no vampires looking for the cure to vampirism has access.

We see the seasons change and Matt driving around in a police uniform. Damon is atop a building.
