- Heightened circumstances create an unlikely family reunion for Bosch. A surprising revelation forces Harry back to square one on his case. The FBI approaches Eleanor with an enticing deal. George Irving faces severe jeopardy.
- In the morning Harry asks Maddie if she wants to come to work with him, making copies, getting coffee, etc. On the deck, Eleanor replays the previous night, she realizes she needs to change her gambling lifestyle. She hasn't spoken to Reggie Woo yet.
Detectives Johnson and Moore greet Maddie with good humour, she goes to work with Billets' daughter. Jerry has dug up info on Leila's immigration four years ago. The DA's Office calls's.
Jerry and Harry go to County Jail. Rykoff is there with the FBI. Rykoff is an FBI undercover agent, they are upset Bosch planted the gun. The whole deal is about the Russian Mafia working with the Mexican Cartels who may provide access to the US by radical Islamic terrorists. It is explained Rykoff will eventually be released at the arraignment and stay undercover.
George Irving and his new pals chat in the locker room.
Bosch, Edgar and Billets discuss the murder. They will look for Leila. They go to the address of her immigration sponsor. After some pressure the woman says Leila left long ago. She gets nervous at the mention of Joey Marks.
Arsenault pulls up at liquor store and tells George to buy more beer. While taking a Corona out of the fridge a hooded assailant comes in and kills him and the clerk. He shooter takes George's watch. Arsenault comes in a little later with his gun and calls in for support. As Irvine Irving and his wife Connie prepare for bed the doorbell rings. Sgt. Washington is there to drive him to the scene, telling him his son is involved.
Irving arrives at the liquor store and is told his son is the victim. He goes inside to look. He sees Arsenault being led away. He sees his son in a pool of blood. He kneels and weeps. The cops watch the security footage. O'Shea is outside but Irving doesn't want him in. There's a meeting in the mobile command post. The IA lead explains George Irving's undercover role. Maureen O'Grady is identified. Irving is told to go home, he will be kept informed.
Harry tells Eleanor about George Irving, sad but he hardly knew him. An "end of watch" broadcast goes over the radio, all cops hear. Connie Irving is distraught. Jul 24, 2015. Maddie asks about him. Even on Saturday, Harry is going to work and drops Maddie off at the Billets.
Arsenault goes to a Car Wash. Carl Nash is there and tells him Irving was a snitch. He advises Arsenault how to play the FID interview on Monday. He warns Arsenault the murder weapon can be traced to him.
FBI Special Agent Griffin meets Eleanor Wish by a lake in Echo Park. He talks about her resignation from the FBI, he can clear her record if she works for them.
The cops watch the TV report on George Irving and speculate. It looks random but Moore says he heard IA was at the scene. Officer Pierce tells Bosch he was sorry he reported George in the Waits case.
Edgar shows the Glendale cop the book and photos found from Leila's. He provides some translations and a lead to a local Armenian Church. Harry and Edgar talk to the priest, he had heard Leila was engaged to be married a few months ago. After the cops leave speculating about Veronica Allen, the Priest goes to a back room. Leila is hiding there, soon to get a new passport.
Connie Irving is angry Irvine hadn't told her George was undercover. She blames him for killing their son.
Harry pours a drink for Eleanor, he updates her. She says she met the FBI Special Agent who wants her to spy on Harry. He says go along with it as long as she gets the deal in writing, about clearing her record.
Carl Nash visits Veronica Allen, they kiss and discuss their plans. She offers sex and takes him upstairs.
