Considering the price, good game

I got this game for 1.99 on the Playstation Network store. If I had payed more, I may be a bit more critical of it, but for the price it was an enjoyable game. Basically, it is a longer version of the Slenderman game that features you walking through the woods and collecting pages. Here, there is only one level where you do that as there are multiple stages to it. Some of the levels actually are different too, as the second stage where I was collecting the pages changed. The game makes your pulse race as you try to evade the increasingly difficult to avoid Slenderman, and there are a couple of other threats added to this one as well.

The story has you as a childhood friend of a woman named Kate. You search her house trying to locate your friend finding increasingly more disturbing clues as you progress. Soon, you are being stalked by a strange person who is tall and slender. Soon the main character finds herself outside a mine where more clues await her and she finds tapes all leading to a very evil presence.

The game play is pretty good as you must traverse each level in the search for your missing friend. The only thing you have is a flashlight and a strange determination to find your childhood friend. Seriously, I don't think I would try so hard to locate someone. It is first person so most of the time you are walking and running with no real way to defend yourself except in the mines where your flashlight can blind one of your foes for like two seconds.

So a pretty good game, though short was cheap so I am not going to hold it against it. The ending was a bit disappointing as I did not know what was going on and then Slenderman did not even appear during the finale. He may on harder difficulty as there is said to be a couple of extra shots if you play on a greater difficulty. I did easy cause the thing was hard enough on it! Pretty fun and solid game and well worth the 1.99 I paid for it.

SLENDERMAN: The Arrival: A Creepy Little Sequel

SLENDERMAN: The Arrival was an interesting horror survival game based on the urban myth character by the same name.

"When her friend disappears into the woods around her home, a young woman ventures into a nightmarish realm to unravel the mystery of a malevolent creature that has targeted her."

This game, although very short, was a fun and tense play. The atmosphere is pretty spot on, with eerie sound effects and background ambiance setting a heavy, suspenseful tone. Although the graphics aren't anything special, everything else (music, sounds, setting, story, lighting, lore, gameplay etc.) make it a creepy psychological little game to play. It is definitely too short for the general 10$ asking price, so pick it up on a sale if you can. Overall, a memorable and creepy little game.

Horrifyingly ambient music. Unsettling sound effects. Incredibly intense and terrifying gameplay. All in a package of $10 or less.
