Low budget movie about political dissenters in the Communist USSR Gulag. I found it interesting because the characters specifically spoke about 50 million people killed in the USSR Gulag. I have watched other Gulag movies, such as The Way Back (2010) and Gulag (1985), and a German and another movie, but none of them mentioned the vast extent of the genocide.
Pros: Does talk openly about the 50 million people killed by USSR. Good portrayal of individual Gulag dissidents. Good dialogue.
Cons: Doesn't specifically name the JEW in running the Communist USSR. Lacks in massive scale Gulag camp sets. Very low budget.
Since it wasn't from a major Jew Hollywood studio, and had no advertising, I was expecting it to not have a huge budget and not to be able to re-create any large Gulag camps with hundreds of extras. But then again Jew Hollywood has never made a Gulag movie.
Don't expect a $100 million Hollywood movie that says 50 million innocent people were killed in USSR - ever.
The big budget movie The Way Back (2010) showed most Gulag inmates were criminals, when in fact Solzhenitsyn said that the criminals were outside the Gulag in Soviet society and the victims were inside the Gulag. That is why I liked this movie so much and would place it above any previous Gulag movie.
