Pius hand the Italian Prime Minister a list of demands. He wants the government to support a bevy of very conservative demands. Opposition to abortion under any circumstances, no gay marriage, support and extension of Vatican land, and on and on. When the Prime Minister balks at this, big time political threats are made. The remainder of the episode shows Pius (Jude Law) moving into enforcement mode. He feels he is the new Jesus in some ways, and he's not about let the clergy get away with anything. There is bewilderment. One particular scene is when he asks if a priest or priests are willing to get down in the dirt of the streets and serve drug dealer and the scum of the Earth. Basically, he is telling them that they'd better be ready for this because it could easily come to be. Things are heating up.
