What the bleep was that?
codygdietrich29 October 2019
It starts shaky because they are some sort of young Christian missionaries probably in a foreign country, I'm completely serious they don't say where they are or why they're there or what denomination they are. Then it's a storyline about gay urges, baptisms, exorcisms, and street gangs. Just when you think you have it figured out they seem to switch writers because the whole time of the movie as well as some of the characters personalities completely change for no apparent reason and they add aspects to the plot that would have been part since the beginning but you only find out 80% into the movie.

Pansy becomes slasher Lucifer
ohlabtechguy27 January 2021
Yet another film linking homosexuality with religion, only this time we get to see it treated more as a horror flick. Acting was sufficient, but although this is a horror movie, I found myself cracking up at times....at some of the most unbelievable scenes. In the end, the pansy Christian boy gets the last laugh, but not before he finally gets to consummate his lust for the naked hot preacher man. Not too bad for a student project.

Sexiest exorcism I've seen
devylin19 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'd have liked to see some further development with the gang, since they seemed like they were going to be an important plot point, but all of the actors did a great job. The exorcism scenes were some of the sexiest I've seen and definitely added to the movie. The violence against Jordan seemed a bit more BDSM than exorcism, but it could have been their intention to blend the two. With way, it was an enjoyable watch.

Homophobic

Warning: Spoilers
So, what makes the good Christian boy gay? Being possessed by a demon apparently. The demon eventually has him rape and murder the target of his desire. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? Misguided on so many levels. This is basically a super Christian's scariest concept of a horror film. It's like those bizarre evangelical haunted houses shown in the documentary 'Hell House'. Next they'll make one where the aborted baby stalks the mother.

Cast and friends of cast are the only way this turd got the rating it did.

Terrible story with the seemingly sole purpose of bashing Christians and actors that couldn't pull their weight in a 3rd grade play. This is a complete turd from start to finish. I'm getting really tired of movies that exist only to push someone's political or religious views and this movie is the perfect example. Complete waste of time.

Disturbing yet engrossing horror thriller
rc1990018 July 2019
I was put off at first because for some reason, Amazon Prime classified this as a comedy. The story concerns a small church community in an old house in a not-so-great neighborhood of Los Angeles. A young man, Jordan, has a secret attraction for the pastor, Eli. He keeps it hidden until discovered and outed by another resident. Eli proceeds to exorcise the "demon" out of him. There is much more to the plot. I won't spoil it. The ending is horrific. It was well acted, particularly the two lead actors. Recommended if you have strong nerves.

Intriguing and and I don't know, but I liked it.

Warning: Spoilers
I heard about this movie while listening to a podcast called Dead for Filth when the host was interviewing the two story developers/directors. I had previously thought I wouldn't like this movie but was convinced to give it a try after the interview. I am glad I did! Yes this movie is low-budget and some of the acting is a little...much (especially from the ginger girl) but over all I thought it was great. The not so subtle homo-eroticism is contrasted by the deep external and internal loathing of the evangelic beliefs of this group trying to start and inner-city mission. On top of all that there are demon possessions! For some reason Amazon lists this as a horror comedy, it is not. It is horror, there are some parts post-religious people could find funny, but most of it all is sad. What the main character is dealing with and the context in which he has to deal are terrible and all to real.

**Spoilers** The pastor/mission leader (Eli) is HOT and he knowingly flirts mercilessly with the obviously gay main character (Jordan), as the story progresses I got the opinion that the pastor had quite a bit of an ego problem due to his domineering dad and would manipulate the affections of the gay character to make him feel better about himself...then the exorcisms start. The exorcism of Jordan (to get out either the gay demon or the lust demon) by Eli both the first and second time was borderline erotic. There is quite a bit of S&M dominance and submissive language posturing going on and it was kind of oddly hot. It all comes to a quite end when Eli tells Jordan "I forgive you", yes Jordan/the demon did something very terrible but so did Eli but the thought for him to apologize obviously never occurs. There are so many levels to this movie and I thought it was great. Not every movie has to cost a billion dollars to entertain and get one to think a bit. One thing I wish were cleared up though: Was the demon making Jordan gay or was it making him lustful? I honestly think it was the latter. I think Jordan would be gay either way and the demon that possessed him just made him start to act on those feelings he had.

I thought this was a pretty funny movie

The people who are rating this poorly didn't get the joke. It's not a homophobic movie. It's making fun of homophobes!
