This is yet another slice of life padded episode. Unlike the last we do get some minimal plot progression, but you could have merged this with the previous episode and still ended up with a slow episode. I am uncertain why this is occurring as season 1 was so well paced. But besides the very uneven pacing this is watchable, as long as you do not need a lot of plot progression.
Some new things are disclosed, the round table has offered to level up some NPC's as a good will measure. We know Shiroe is worried about crusty and quite frankly so am I. He is one of the more interesting characters and his absence is noticed. I think its to give Misa and Riese some character development, but we see so little of them if this is the intention, its not working.
The final reveal is the appearance of what looks like a female version of shiroe, calling herself Row 2. She is a vampire and saves the party at the end of the episode, which is another example of a lost opportunity. If you wanted to pad the episode out a better strategy would have to give more time to the fight at the end of the episode. The fight, as it occurred, was, at best, lame. Giving more time to the fight could have allowed more drama and excitement, instead of the slice of life activity with occurs in the first 90% of the episode. A very watchable episode, but such a lost opportunity
