I always think Dan Dare, rather like Captain America and Superman, is a victim of his own iconic status. He’s great as a symbol, as a painted cover or on a poster, but when it comes to putting him in good stories that’s a little trickier. Sure, it’s been done before, but the average definitely outweighs the good. Expectations weren’t particularly high when I saw Dan Dare being re-launched again to be honest, but when I saw Peter Milligan was involved that piqued my interest quite a bit, and thinking about it, Titan Comics don’t misfire often. Well, that first issue met and most definitely exceeded expectations, giving us (forgive the cliché) a Dan Dare for the future. Plus, it was fun. We like fun.

Rob Liefeld, comic book maestro and the creative genius behind the Merc With a Mouth, fanboys over Nathan Summers (Aka Cable) in this really rather awesome behind-the-scenes photo from Deadpool 2.
First unveiled via Liefeld’s own Instagram feed, the image finds Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) between takes, as the actor shares a laugh with the man responsible for his on-screen anti-hero in the first place – Liefeld is one of four credited with the creation of Cable, alongside Chris Claremont, Louise Simonson and Rick Leonardi.
It’s not a particularly revealing photo by any means, so don’t go in expecting any clues pertaining to Deadpool 2‘s story; instead, this is a welcome peek behind the curtain, as it gives fans a chance to see Rob Liefeld on set. And let’s face it: having the creator of Deadpool present between takes can only be a good thing.

Spike Jonze is one hell of a talented director that has made some great films in his career. He's also directed some great music videos as well. Jonze recently did something that's pretty amazing. He recently directed a short dance film live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with Mia Wasikowska and Lakeith Stanfield, and it turned out spectacular!
No joke, I had a smile on my face from beginning to end. I dare you to watch this and not smile! It's just so freakin' charming and it managed to bring a little extra happiness into my life today.
Jonze took an excerpt from the theatrical dance piece Changers: A Dance Story, and adapted it into a short film that he shot live on the set of The Tonight Show. It featured music by Run the Jewels, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The one thing we can say with certainty about Younger‘s fourth season finale is that Liza is most definitely not in love with the situation at hand. Show me a woman who is happy to attend her ex-boyfriend’s wedding barely a few months after they’ve broken up. I dare you. This is after Liza’s emotional confession last week that she was completely in love with Charles. So what happens when an ocean is put between Liza and Charles, and our heroine ends up in a beautiful foreign country on the verge of losing the other man in her life once

Did you know that the ending we saw in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra Terrestrial wasn't the original ending of the movie? There was another ending that was shot that ended up on the cutting room floor.
I remember hearing something about this years ago, but thanks to an interview with Robert MacNaughton, who played Elliot's brother Michael, we have some new details on this scene. E.T. is turning 35 freakin' years old this year! Seeing this film is the earliest memory I have of going to the movies and it so cool and fun to learn new things about it all these years later.
While talking to Yahoo Movies about the film, MacNaughton explained that the original ending involved a game of Dungeons & Dragons:
"The last scene in the movie wasn't supposed to be the scene that ends up in the movie. The last scene was going to be...

Of all the trailers that have gone up on GeekTyrant in the past month, I don't think there's one our readers will appreciate more than the sequel trailer for Wolfcop, Another Wolfcop. Read the synopsis and check out the balls to the wall trailer below:
Alcoholic werewolf cop Lou Garou springs into action when an eccentric businessman with evil intentions seduces Woodhaven’s residents with a new brewery and hockey team in this outrageous horror-comedy sequel.

Paris Jackson is a force with which to be reckoned.
The late King of Pop’s daughter, much like her famous father, led a private life up until recently. While Paris has slowly been making her way into the spotlight, it wasn’t until this year that the 19-year-old began seriously dabbling in an array of interests, from acting to modeling, as well as offering up revealing anecdotes about her life in her recent interview with Rolling Stone.
We’re taking a look back at what the star has accomplished in 2017 — so far.

I'm there to interview Drew Barrymore, who is in the midst of an elaborate photo shoot for Barrymore Wines, a wine label she has developed in partnership with Carmel Road. She has just released the 2016 Monterey Rosé of Pinot Noir ($23), a wine I'll try while catching up with the ever-quotable actress. As I step into the foyer, Drew cuts across the room, half sandwich in hand to take her lunch break. She stops upon recognition and draws me in for a hug. "It's been a year," Drew sighs. "What a year it's been," I echo. Last April, we sat at a sunny window seat, sipped Rosé a little too early in the day, and discussed everything but her relationship status...

Here's a film that should, er, cheer the kids up. Our review of A Dog's Purpose....
I don’t know if you’ve realised this, but dogs are quite cute. When they die, it’s really, really sad. Well that’s basically the two modes A Dog’s Purpose, Lasse Hallström’s surprisingly existential pup movie based on W. Bruce Cameron’s novel landing in cinemas this May, travels in and, despite sparks of creativity and darkness here and there, it never moves much beyond low expectations.
Over the course of the 120-minute running time we follow the travelling soul of a dog in various different doggie bodies, starting with Bailey - owned by Riverdale’s non-ginger Kj Apa as a young Dennis Quaid - then moving on to police dog Ellie (yes the dog switches gender, but is still voiced by Josh Gad), then faithful companion Tino and, finally,...

Ever since Sony cut Marc Webb’s Spider-Man trilogy short, he’s silently focused on television producing (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, anyone?). Despite the time away, Gifted – his feature “comeback” of sorts – doesn’t flake any rust. It’s a return to heartfelt, human dramatics, more attuned to 500 Days Of Summer than spandex-clad photographers or a musical psycho romantic. Chris “Captain America” Evans may lead, but Webb’s only superhero is young Mckenna Grace whenever she’s outshining her adult cast. We’re talking Onata-Aprile-in-What-Maisie-Knew levels of childhood stardom, before the searing lights of Hollywood have blasted away pure, adolescent innocence. Go ahead and find me another 11-year-old who can outshine Octavia Spencer. I dare you.

This past weekend my wife and I tried to be adults, but Fandango’s inexplicable Ui rendered my better/prettier/sexier/amazinger half confuzzled. The tickets we purchased to see “Split” by M. Night Shamalamadingdong were for the wrong date (as in three days prior to when we were currently out). D’oh! Mistakes happen, no biggie. But with a sitter on the clock, and time dwindling, we opted instead to catch “Get Out” by Jordan Peele. Until we noticed that the entire theater was sold out — save for two seats not together. And boy, it’d be a hindrance to a date night to not sit together.
So we saw “Lego Batman.” It would be the second time I’d seen it in as many weeks.
I won’t bury the lede: “Lego Batman” is amazing. It’s a visual and auditory roller coaster that nearly never comes up for air.

If anything, Dean Isrealite’s (Project Almanac) big screen Power Rangers will be fun. Time will tell if the silliness of the concept, with it’s ordinary teenagers gaining magical colour coded armour and gigantic battle bots, will end up overpowering the whole affair, but it should at least be fun. Don’t believe me, then check out this latest trailer, and try not to at least smile. I dare you. Released: March 24th Synopsis: Saban’S Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: Which current TV couple is giving you relationship goals?
Todd VanDerWerff (@tvoti), Vox
Whenever people ask me what TV show is the best currently running, my go-to answer is “The Americans” for a variety of reasons (it’s really that good, it’s one most people haven’t seen, etc.). But a big reason for that is thanks to the sterling marriage of Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, whose icy cold love fills my heart with joy. Think about it: When the series began, these two spies were just pretending to have a functional relationship — only to have realized that their pretending was essentially the same as something real.

Guys, you have to Google "polyembolokoilamania," stat. I dare you.
Well, only if you're a huge medical nerd. Not only did Chicago Med Season 2 Episode 12 finally deliver on a story about foreign objects inserted into *ahem* orifices (a staple of the medical genre), but we all learned a really cool vocabulary word to describe it.
While Choi tackled the dangerous twist on a common problem, there were several rare cases for the rest of the team to handle. Mirror synesthesia and situs invertus are both pretty rare; what are the odds an ER would see a case of each on the same day?
I shouldn't have been surprised that the headline case was approached so seriously since the foreign object in question was a loaded gun, but other shows have trained me to see these cases as amusing not dire. As have real world docs who write about the not so uncommon phenomenon.

The xx have been in full-on promotion mode for their upcoming record, I See You. Between performing new music on Saturday Night Live, to supporting their recent single, “On Hold,” fans of the band have really been benefiting from the recent influx. Today, we get the next part in the indie-pop group’s album cycle: the music video for “On Hold.”
Taking place in the rural Marfa, Texas, the video shows what high school life there is like – mixing in love, parties, and everything in between. The clip, which was directed by British photographer Alasdair McLellan, falls in line quite nicely with the artistic direction that you usually see in The xx videos. While “On Hold” doesn’t do anything crazy different here, its familiarity is enough to cement it as yet another solid addition to their videography.

As a fan of animated flicks, I have to say, 2016 left a pretty great impression on me.

[[tmz:video id="0_es8hy792"]] The Chicago Cubs fan who was knocked out cold after the World Series was running his mouth to an Indians fan -- and even Dared the Cleveland guy to punch him ... so says the man who shot the video. We spoke with Chris Vallimont ... who says he pulled out his phone and started to record after he saw the two men cussing at each other right outside Progressive Field. We have seen Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor kissing, making love and even stripping in public places in the Befikre trailer. And if the trailer was not enough for you to freak you out with their bold and carefree stunts, the two actors have now taken the pagalpan (madness) and lust to a different level together in Befikre's new song titled Ude Dil Befikre. Ranveer and Vaani begin with the dangerous "I dare you" game and believe us, the two bold actors pull those embarrassing and challenging adventures with ease. You can see Vaani stripping in a public library showing off her seductive dancing moves with regular pelvic thrusts. The flamboyant Ranveer is no less when it comes to displaying his uninhibited sexuality. He enters into a fun-filled party wearing nothing but a red playboy underwear and a cowboy hat flaunting his chiselled six-pack abs throwing kisses and his...

Gilmore Girls is often praised for the beautifully written relationship between Lorelai and her daughter, Rory.
As a single mom at 16, Lorelai knew no other way to parent Rory other than to raise her as a friend, a confidant, and an equal.
While Lorelai and Rory’s freakishly close bond has always remained the heart of the beloved series, it’s a stark contrast to the relationship that exists between Lorelai and her own mother, Emily.
Emily raised Lorelai in a privelged home, but stripped away much of the freedom that children desire, which caused an eventual rift between the two strong-willed women, and lead to Lorelai leaving home with a newborn, ready to find her own independence working at the Independence Inn in Stars Hollow.
Some of the greatest triumphs of the series are the incredible scenes between these two characters who are incredibly similar, but also two sides of the same coin.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich accused Fox News host Megyn Kelly of being “fascinated by sex” during a fiery live interview – after she asked a question about the multiple women who have accused Donald Trump of sexual assault.
Kelly started by pressing Gingrich on poll numbers showing the Republican nominee behind, but the former House Speaker pivoted to speaking about states where Trump is doing well and said that pollsters have an agenda.
When Kelly pointed out Fox’s polling has Hillary Clinton leading, he said, “You tell me if that’s all made up.”
Things got even more heated...

Given Donald Trump's very bad week, Saturday Night Live had an all-you-can-eat buffet's worth of material to draw from for their latest cold open, which mashed up the vice presidential debates with Trump's lewd 2005 leaked video, his late-night apology video and the Gop's mass exodus away from their own nominee.
"Donald Trump loves women, he respects women, he's never said a single bad thing about women," and I dare you to show me a single shred of evidence that proves otherwise," "Mike Pence" states during SNL's VP debate,...

With the way Election 2016 is going, it's been next to impossible for writers to come up with storylines that stranger than reality.
Madam Secretary Season 3 Episode 1 certainly gave it the old college try though. After Dalton lost the nomination (a fate suffered by only one elected president in history), Elizabeth suggested that he run as an independent. The least crazy part of this story was framing the climate change debate as an issue of national security!
While the election maneuverings may be slightly fantastical, what struck me as even more bizarre was how domestically focused everything was. Sure, Elizabeth spoke to the foreign minister of Tunisia, but what role did he play beyond providing a little bit of global shade?
Climate change is a serious issue, and an even bigger problem is how the U.S. government has it's hands tied by Congress and state legislatures when it comes to the issue.

The Rosiarito Beach Hotel is back in business.
On Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 12, the two groups within the hotel finally came together and worked on adjusting to their new lives.
Thanks to the clearing of the infected on Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 11, the group was able to access the generator and restore power to the hotel. This also provided everyone with many other amenities, including an ice machine!
There's nothing quite like a nice, cold drink on those hot, post-apocalyptic days.
I did gasp when Strand was stabbed by Ilene. It was sudden, unexpected, and a nice change for this show to genuinely surprise me. I wish it would do that more often.
At the same time, I never felt Strand's life was actually at stake during the hour. His character has grown by leaps and bounds through the second half of the season, and there...
