Ok Flick!

Ok movie but for some reason I can't stand the sight of Bree Williamson! She is so cute she's ugly! She seems obnoxious as well. Hard to explain about Bree! Also, the little girl is the worst child actor ever! She is so wooden and acts like a robot...UGGGGGG!

Dumb, dumber & dumber
pumping_iron-124 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Another dumb LMN movie with mediocre actors. SPOILER ALERT: Why would anyone see a doctor without checking his/her credentials. Why did Monica call Kevin to tell him that she had recorded their conversation. Why didn't she call 911 to report what Kevin was doing to her. Who called the police to advise them that Monica's daughter was in danger because of Lisa. Why didn't the nurse check if the doctor was on the on call list or on Monica's list of doctors. LMN keeps pumping out too many movies too fast and they keep getting worse.

Not even B-Grade worthy
maverick-8492430 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The usual dross that one finds on daytime TV with a clichéd made-for- TV 'drama' that makes the worst episode of Days of Our Lives look like an Academy performance.

Wooden acting, a paper-thin plot line and camera angles that put the Batman TV series of the 60s to shame.

Spoiler Alert: this is truly garbage.

Starts off strong then gets ridiculous

Warning: Spoilers
A young couple get into a car accident and the wife is pregnant. The husband dies. Years later the wife is raising her daughter and a successful architect. She meets a man who is great to her and her daughter. They get married and things seem fine but then a devious plot is hatched to take over her business and her child. Why can't things just work out for her? OVer the top conspiracies are part of the fun of Lifetime thrillers. The best friend and jealous colleague, the quack shrink, the crazy man. But it's just all a bit too much even for Lifetime standards. The ending feels cheap.

Lynn Collins looks convincing as the successful single mother. She is a better actress than this kind of thriller deserves. She has done big screen blockbusters. It's just the script doesn't hold up well at the end.

The Work Ethic of Monica Branson Hooper
lavatch6 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A strong element of "A Mother Betrayed" is the work ethic of the main character, Monica Branson Hooper. Monica and her husband Jonathan have built an architectural firm into a multi-million-dollar international powerhouse. But Monica's world comes crashing down when Jonathan dies in a senseless automobile accident.

Four years later, Monica has rebuilt her life around her little Munchkin named Maddy and her work as head of the architectural company. The screenplay endorses Monica's work ethic as something positive that is tied to her deep devotion to her daughter. Monica's support system has been her assistant Lisa, who works for her at the office and provides moral support to Monica. Lisa also recommends that Monica rekindle her love life by introducing her to Kevin Richardson.

But, unbeknownst to Monica, Lisa is married to Kevin. Along with Kevin's oily attorney brother Jerry and a nefarious creature posing as a helpful psychiatrist, Dr. Summers, Monica is being slowly set up to become mad due to the medications administered by the quack doctor. The only clue we have about this plot lies in a single moment when Lisa expresses dismay that she has not been promoted to partner of the architectural firm.

Two of the unsung heroes of the film are Monica's kind parents, Barbara and Harry, who are among the first to recognize Kevin and Lisa as frauds. The quick-thinking Monica stops taking Dr. Summer's pills, and she adroitly records a confession of her psycho husband Kevin.

A shortcoming of the film was that the dastardly plot of Lisa, Kevin, Jerry, and Dr. Summers seemed to come out of nowhere. The wise old owl Barbara intones, "who knew there was so much evil in the world?" In the case of this film, the evil of the fearsome foursome was almost as great a shock to the audience as it was to Monica Branson Hooper.

Warning: Spoilers
A wonderful diabolical plot is shown here in this film.

A successful architect, devastated by the loss of her husband in a traffic accident, remarries 5 years later after she is introduced by her assistant to the man she weds.

Go know that the woman doing the introducing is already married to the guy and the two of them have cooked up a scheme to get everything. The guy even goes so far to adopt her daughter from her first marriage.

While the film is well done and very interesting to follow, there are questions. Was the original accident planned by the deviant duo? Who was that psychiatrist? How do they recruit her? Was she really a psychiatrist and if not, how did she show credentials to work in that mental hospital?
