Brett Jarrett, his teen brother Harry and their aunt Rosie run the pumpkin farm inherited from their late father, but he already had to sell it to big city tycoon William Stone. When the latter goes broke over bad investments, it's all left to him and his spoiled-rotten daughter Jennifer 'Jenny' Stone, who can't wait to sell it. First she stays there, clearly unwelcome but legally in her right, and learns about the pumpkin business, albeit Brett enjoys making it even harder for her. It looks like the value is pittance, but a marketer friend inspires her to attempt giving it a makeover, and a family recipe for pumpkin-based sun cream proves crucial. Meanwhile she bonds with the locals, teaches Harry to dance and court. Cupid works his magic on Brett and her.
