Insanity shines in this hysterically perfect Modern Family ep.
lisatepper18 January 2018
Modern Family's 4th Thanksgiving-themed episode delivers a hysterical, touching episode that fully encapsulates the very best of the show.

After all over-hearing Phil discussing his client's sexy house, various family members get the idea to sneak over. This escalates and escalates and causes some of the tightest comedy scenes in the show's history. Every plot point is so well thought out, and comes together so beautifully, you'd be mistaken to think that there are 20 writers for the show in order to orchestrate this high level of genius.

Haley and Andy's storyline further expands on their multiple seasons will-they-or-won't-they to great effect. Offering physical comedy and small, dramatic moments, the show takes full advantage of the impeccable chemistry between Sarah and Adam to demonstrate the love that their characters have for each other.

Concluding with such a beautiful note, that is highly considered to be the best moment from the show, Phil's Sexy, Sexy House exemplifies the very best of the show, and is as perfect an episode you can get.

Phil's Sexy, Sexy House

Anyone who feels that 'Modern Family' completely lost its way in the latter half of its run should watch this episode.

Faultless, absolutely brilliant stuff from start to finish.

A joy.

Misunderstanding brings the laughs back to Modern Family

Warning: Spoilers
After two weak episodes, this episode brings Modern Family back to the heights it should always be at. The show almost always works better when the whole family is together or when the character pairings are more inspired than being stuck in three separate households. Phil's Sexy, Sexy House finally brings the whole family together in one room, then splits them all up before reuniting them all again come the end. And it's an absolute blast.

It's nice to see Haley and Andy's connection developing, the events that took place inside the house in this episode were consistently hilarious, but also worked to serve the larger, season- wide arc about their relationship. The whole episode, in fact, makes for the funniest Modern Family has been all season. From Alex hiding Reuben away in the closet, to Phil wandering around a populated room with his mask on, to Claire completely misunderstanding Phil's intentions and showing up in a medieval costume. Everything came together wonderfully.

This might not be to the same standard as the other two farcical episodes Modern Family has done (Las Vegas and Three Turkeys), but it's a definite improvement on this season so far, and it proves that when the writers actually try, Modern Family can still be great.

I did not see Modern Family in such a good level of episode. Some episodes have just a good enough quality to say I'm not wasted my time, but this, this is something else. Phil, I'm glad you are a Real Estate Agent, otherwise this episode could not have been. Claire, you're still hot.
