As a plea deal is brought forth to the judge for accused child kidnapper, rapist and killer Lewis Hodda (Tom Sizemore) he decides to recant his confession at the last minute. Because Hodda is claiming coercion under duress, Lt. Benson's (Mariska Hargity) interrogation methods are scrutinized and questioned. Meanwhile Amanda (Kelli Giddish) is still on bed rest but a check in with her doctor sends her the the hospital for observation.—Brooklyn Autumn
Lt. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) seeks justice in the trial of child abductor Lewis Hodda (returning guest star Tom Sizemore), but when a plea deal is rejected, Barba (Raúl Esparza) must rely on decades-old evidence to make his case and faces off against former SVU colleague Dr. Huang (guest star BD Wong).
Lewis Hodda, a man who is responsible for the abduction of two children and the murder of one of them, agreed to a plea but when it comes time for it to be ratified by a judge, he says that he was pressured to accept because Olivia badgered him and his lawyer told him to. He fires his lawyer and demands a new trial. The parents of the child who survived doesn't want to testify. So they are left with just the mother of the other child.
