It's all about clay

Warning: Spoilers
The episode that we've waiting for. The episode that will answer what clay did to Hannah, why he is in the tape. This episode ruined me, really, i'm not the same, i cried a lot. You're a terrible person if you don't like this episode. Clay finally found out why he is part of the tape, and he blame himself that he killed hannah that he is the reason why hannah killed herself. We learned the reason why he is the tape is because he needed to be on that tape to build the whole story.

This is really a moving episode. The acting of Dylan Minnette was fantastic and so was Hannah. They have a great chemistry with Hannah. This is my favorite episode that is why i gave 10/10.

Tape 6, Side A (#1.11)

Warning: Spoilers
And we finally got to Clay's tape. I must say it is a bit disappointing. So he didn't do anything wrong? Not that unbelievable because most of them didn't do anything wrong or wrong enough to be accused of being responsible for Hannah's death. Somehow it just makes one dislike her even more.

I didn't take more points off just because of the story of Justin and Jessica. It was very well done. Wonderful acting. And unlike Hannah these two actually had to deal with real problems in life. I also see Justin caring for Jessica. Sure, he didn't tell her. But unlike Hannah he tried to help her. And him hiding it from her can also be seen as a way to protect her from the truth. Which Hannah revealed to everyone in this selfish and brutal way with tapes. He really came trying to protect her again and let the truth come out. Wonderful scene. I hope they will work it out.

I am still curious about how the last two episodes will go. But now I don't think there will be anything that actually will change my opinion about Hannah.

Deeply Emotional

Warning: Spoilers
Clay discovers finally the reasons he is on the tapes. Hannah states he is a nice guy and he is not on the tapes like the others. Clay made out with Hannah and Hannah cannot go through with the experience from trauma. Jess finds out Bryce raped her after Justin angrily says so after Jess sits on Bryce's lap. The ending song is about lessons one misses when they were young.

I don't get the hype
thorbear-4825518 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
How does this episode have a 9.5 rating??? Is there even a point to IMDb if this is considered to be near perfect screen writing/directing/acting? I've seen Lifetime movies that were similar in writing and acting. The characters aren't likable, their actions and reasoning are hardly believable, and the whole show we're lead to believe that Clay had this huge part in Hannah offing herself, when in reality, he "let her down" because he left after she told him to leave her alone multiple times. That was the big reveal? That he didn't keep pestering her after she yells "Get the f*** out of here! Leave me alone!" in his face several times? What a crock of ...

Seriously. They were hooking up at a party, he asked her a couple times if she was comfortable and everything was okay, and she told him she was. Until she suddenly starts thinking of the way all the guys she knows are jerks. She starts freaking out and telling him to stop. Fine. I can get that. He then starts putting on his shirt and asking her if she's alright, which she responds to by telling him to leave. Rinse and repeat a few times with her getting more and more irate until he decides to leave. This, we're meant to believe, is why Clay is responsible for her suicide. Are you serious? Tony tells him he killed Hannah? Even though she says on the tape that Clay was one of the people she actually liked? What is Tony a psychopath all of a sudden? We're meant to believe that his character wouldn't tell Clay not to worry so much about what's on his tape?

These characters are unbelievably unrealistic, and the whole show feels like a huge waste of time.

Seriously. I don't get the hype. The whole show revolves around this ridiculous notion that suicide is a carefully thought out process where the person committing suicide has time to record a bunch of cassettes where they give sarcastic quips as to why they decide to kill themselves before actually doing it. The main character, Hannah, is written in such a way that makes me not even care that she kills herself. If she's the type of person who would record a bunch of tapes to torment from beyond the grave those she feels let her down, good riddance. She's whiny and self-centered. The show pushes this idea that bullying is a major cause of suicide, which studies upon studies disprove. Suicide victims have been shown to be suffering from treatable mental illnesses at the time of their deaths, which the show doesn't tackle once. Not once are we lead to believe that Hannah is grappling with anything more than standard teen angst (which she would notice all of her peers also struggle with, if she wasn't so far up her own ass). Booooooooo!

Learn how to rate movies and series, folks. This is far from near perfect. In content and execution.

another reason why not
leningrad-cowboy4 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed watching this show in the beginning, but tape after tape, "reason" after "reason", Hannah just started to annoy me. I think this story romanticizes suicide a lot, because I just don't see any serious signs of depression on Hannah. She hast a few minor troubles that anyone has her age. Hannah blames her colleagues that nobody cared for her and nobody tried to help her or is interested in her, but she doesn't see that other people have problems as well they have to deal with. Hannah blames other people for her decision to take her own life. As the story continues I really hoped that there will come a main reason or some major incident that she couldn't handle, but no there are just some little events. But blaming Clay was the worst of it all. He is too nice. That's it. Just because he is a shy teenage boy, he now feels responsible for her death, which is just awful. Hannah really took a lot of effort in blaming other people for her death but she didn't think she should talk to her parents about her issues or leaving them at least a note. In my opinion Hannah is very egoistic and self centered. She has friends, people who like her, is invited to parties, is attractive, gets a lot of attention from boys... There are a lot of kids who don't have that at all and they try to solve their problems and don't kill themselves.

Highschool is tough. For all of us. For some it's better and for some it's a lot worse. But this story sends the wrong message towards suicide/depression and how to deal with problems. The only likable character in this show is Skye. I hope the ending will be better or at least reveal something interesting.
