Stop!... Ezra Time!
Fluke_Skywalker12 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Plot; Ezra gets a vision of his parents through the Force and sets off to find them.

Ezra-focused episode does help put some lingering story elements to bed (it would seem, though I'm not %100 convinced), but also subsequently opens several new doors for the series to explore. Ezra and Kannan have some nice moments together in a thoughtful, quiet episode that sneaks up on you emotionally.

I was also intrigued by Ryder Azadi, a new character voiced by the great Clancy Brown. I can't see him becoming a regular, but hopefully he becomes a part of the larger story moving forward.

Ezra's Search
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic13 October 2020
This is an emotionally powerful and high quality episode.

Ezra has a force vision of his parents and goes in search of them with help from Kanan and Hera. Along the way Ezra is taken on an emotional journey as well as facing some dangerous perils.

Great moments include Ezra's desperate battle against the Empire's forces and his discoveries back on Lothal.

Really well written and created episode.

My rating: 8.5/10.

Very good

This episode was really well paced, directed and written. The urgency is felt almost from the get-go and never lets up. I thought all of the action was great, and Ezra in particular had some truly shining moments. He's becoming a really solid character. He's not some whiny, one-note kid lowly I thought he'd be.

This feels a lot like Star Wars for me. It's emotionally investing, tonally consistent and, thankfully, entertains as heck.

Legacy

This was probably the most emotional episode of the entire series. A lot was uncovered about Ezra's parents and his connection to them. Ezra Bridger is slowly becoming one of the most compelling characters in the series, and with a lot of heart and guts, also one of the bravest. I loved the sense of urgency, and the fact that the rebels are now once again on the run from the Empire, but this episode also made me believe that Lothal may be the new headquarters for the rebellion and the true birthplace of the cause. I had hoped that Ezra's parents would have a larger role in the episode, but when the ending reveal happened, it became very clear that they wouldn't be featured a whole bunch, and that was a bit disappointing as I thought the episode could have benefitted from a little more knowledge of who they actually were, adding on to the information we have already received from Ezra. But the episode did feature some great action sequences, an interesting new character, and a lot of emotions, and it might actually end up being one of my favorite episodes of this season, at least.

Brilliant, as always...

I don't see how any true Star Wars fan is not extremely impressed with this show. It has captured the spirit of SWs better than any presentation since "The Empire Strikes Back." As a matter of fact, if George Lucas had used the character of Ezra and centered all the stories around him in episodes 1-3 he would have had 6 masterpieces instead of 3.

For a weekly show to have such fine animation, such lively stories, such development of the SWs legacy is a tribute to the dedication and professionalism of all the creators. And it's a pure treat for the Star Wars loyalist.
