Insecure star Issa Rae is making her break into movies, with an assist from former SNL star Bill Hader. Rae and Hader—who both have projects at HBO at the moment—are teaming up for Hader’s previously announced romantic dramedy Empress Of Serenity. According to Splitsider, the film will see Hader play an obsessed ex-husband whose plans to reunite with his former wife get hijacked when his widowed dad dragoons him onto a cruise. There, he meet’s Rae’s character, the woman in the cabin next door, who’ll apparently serve as both an accomplice and an obstacle to his scheme. The film will serve as the directorial debut for Jesse Andrews, who previously wrote the script (and original source novel) for indie darling Me And Earl And The Dying Girl.
