Nora mockingly references the Japanese Godzilla monster movie franchise, which is the longest-running film series in history, beginning with the 1954 Ishiro Honda film Gojira. The creature was rechristened with the anglicized pronunciation "Godzilla" for the American dub. Godzilla was in fact born from a volcano, similar to the French sailor's delusion, in Koji Hashimoto's 1984 sequel/reboot The Return of Godzilla.
