- Played mainly from a third person perspective, the screen zooms in to a first person view when the player aims and fires his weapon.
- Typical mission objectives include tasks such as collecting DNA samples of eliminated zombies or transmitting data from within infected zone while fending off hordes of zombies.
- During combat, the player can use firearms and grenades to eliminate enemies comprising mainly of zombies, creatures and human soldiers.
- The player can also attack enemies with melee strikes by swinging the rifle at them or hacking them with a scythe-like ax, or stomping on fallen enemies with spiked boots.
- Upon completion of the mission objectives, the level ends.
