Lighthearted and self aware. These characters could star in their own movie
philippullman-8684229 January 2019
Surprisingly entertaining this show manages to be family friendly instead of simply kid friendly. It is bursting with personality. To strike a more suitable comedic tone it seems that a few characters were inspired by their puppet counterparts in the Robot chicken shorts. The emperor especially is just a treat to watch him and his antics. The main characters are also quite well written. The Freemakers do feel like a real family. it is quite heartwarming to see them work together. Furthermore the setting makes perfect use of the lego star wars setting by merging the master builder concept from the lego movie with the concept of the force. The result is quite unlike everything else in the star wars franchise and a breath of fresh air. using the force to build instead of throwing stuff around allows for a lot more creativity on the part of the writers. Finally, while a few people might lament the status of the show as non canon to the broader Disney Star wars franchise i must say that this works to the show's advantage. It has far more liberty in its storytelling by being in its own canon.

Great Star Wars TV show
tavaresmd20 November 2017
Although it is a kid's show it recaptures the magic of the classic Star Wars better than a film like Rogue One. It has likable characters, good jokes and funny easter eggs towards all of the movies.

Overall, the show comes recommended for Star Wars fans and children.

Great show!

My kids love this show!!! Mondays have become one of their favorite days of the week, since I let them watch this show just before bedtime. They think the Roger droid is hilarious. Also it gives them ideas of ships they want to build with their Lego bricks. Being a Star Wars fan myself, I tried to introduce the Clone Wars animated series to them, but they found it to be too serious and boring. The Rebels animated series is a little more light-hearted, but only my oldest child finds it interesting. On the other hand, the Freemaker Adventures appeals to all 3 of my children, ages 8, 6, and 2. I thought my kids might like Freemaker since they like the Droid Tales and also the Lego Star Wars video game saga. We can't wait for the next season of Freemaker to come out!

Freemakers! Funmakers!

LEGO Star Wars shows have always been popular in our house.... these Emperor & Darth Vader are always worthy of some belly laughs! The Freemakers are great! Some favourite characters pop in from time-to-time as well! Great run-through storylines, wonderful animation and great characters! If you haven't already - watch it now! (Season 2 was just released on DVD, hoping Blu-ray will be soon, will be absurd if it is only DVD!

The best animated SW TV Series ever made!!!
Oneirosophos11 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Before starting this mini review, I admit that I love legos since I was a little kid and I adore Lego Movie & some Lego games. But I find most Lego animated features very weak. Now let's go reviewin'.

As a original trilogy SW lover, I hated prequels and I am quite sceptical about the new trilogy. Although, Clone Wars had a few interesting new characters and places. SW Clone Wars animated was OK but not something I am going to rewatch anytime. Star Wars Rebels is a good show, but with a very weak first season. And then, Lego Freemaker Adventures came.

My only connection to Freemakers, were the two lego sets that were released. Due to the whole SW & Lego merchandise milking, I had a lotta reasons to be scared of the result. Then I watched the first episode. It was a shiny gem. Then the second. In a week I had watched the whole series and I wanted more!

Lego Freemaker Adventures combines the fan core of Lego Star Wars games, of previous Star Wars animations, of every SW movie and delivers, with adding even more! The story is excellent, the animation is fluid, the ost is epic and is an amazingly addictive animated series, whether you are a SW fan or not! Also, the main characters, as long as the secondary are unique and incredibly written. I loved the Freemakers, the droid Roger, the lazy imperial general, the Emperor (!!!), the new planets, the goons, everything was literally awesome!

So, strap on your spacesuit belts and enjoy an ace animation!
