So Well Acted
brandirclark18 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Jensen Ackels performance is so engaging in this episode. With a single word he shows that he is Sam's parent, no matter their age. Then he holds the adult conversation of calling Chuck to task. It is a scene that has stuck with me and one that I feel compelled to re-watch independent of the episode.

Better Then the Last Episode!
JensenAckles2712 May 2016
This episode was better then last week and it shows Sam and Dean more. I think this is one of my other favorite episodes of the show. It was touching when dean cried when he was talking to chuck, i have seen dean cry before in another season when they were young. I soon hope they can just kill Amara already and not deal with her anymore. I also like the scene where dean is talking to chuck outside at the park and that was a good part too. Dean convinces chuck to take Amara out but i think dean cant do it so he wants chuck. Like i said, I sure hope they can kill Amara by the end of this season cause i don't like Amara she wants dean to be a part of her and i hope he don't. Again this was a very good episode and i enjoyed watching it.

The plot twists keep coming, and the jokes aren't stale.

Saving Luci

The dialogue of God and Dean just seems weird to me. I like Metatron here. The prophet is good, reminds a little too much of that psychic in S10. As for the rescue it was whatever. The Dean and Amara thing is getting to stale and weird for me, it doesn't have any pull to it, its pretty creepy too but played strangely by the show.

You killed Supernatural
Aries_Primal17 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Guys I don't know how you can destroy a show that so many people love to that level! This is new level of failure for you, for your story, for Sam and Dean. Forget what we, fans, all who support you and all thanks to who this show is still alive like? We like monsters, the personal fight, Impalla, rock'n'roll, brotherhood and all little jokes, give seasons already this thing is gone, stop joking with us! So you could make two seasons and so many details and information for the yellow eyed demon who killed Merry Winchester, but you showed God as some stupid guy eating Chinese food without pants? My apologies, not as believer, as a fan of Supernatural, you killed this show! We watch 4 seasons one after another Sam and Dean drinking beer staying in front of the computer. No drama, no action, no life or death, no violence, no passion, no nothing. I remember the time when every single detail was important, from the notebook to the guy's accessories, we wanted to be like them, we adored them. You killed all of that. My grandma actually may like it! Your hunger for money killed Supernatural, thank you very much!

Characters are doing things that the writers need them to
CubsandCulture19 October 2020
In the later seasons of the show the writers got increasingly careless with characterizations and plotting around big character choices. Metatron's involvement here is a pretty good example. I hate his ending and the writers know it doesn't make much sense. They hang a lantern on the problem.

This episode is quite lame overall.

Defective theology
fredit-4300421 December 2021
The writers certainly are entitled to invent their own theology, even using pieces of familiar theology. But I think my favorite series does best when making up and sticking to its own rules for combating monsters, demons, angels, etc. While fighting them. I always found religion class and Sunday school to be rather boring, regardless of whether it was being taught by Metatron or Sister Mary Ignatius. More action, less talk would have been better, I think.
