- TriviaIn the book, Camille doesn't have a cellphone because she prefers to be hard to reach. She also doesn't talk to her editor, Curry, nearly as frequently, because he doesn't want to call her family's landline and Camille doesn't call him that often. This change was likely made for the audience to be able to keep up more with what Camille is thinking and where the plot is at.
- GoofsBob Nash refers to driving from his place of employment in Hayti, MO (pronounced HAY-tie). But the actor pronounces it as HAY-tee (like the country).
- Quotes
Detective Richard Willis: Well, like you were about to go talk to young Keene over there.
Camille Preaker: Oh, is that who that is?
Detective Richard Willis: Yeah, reporters aren't supposed to talk to minors without parental permission.
Camille Preaker: Jesus, I was just gonna hit on him.
Obviously otherwise 10/10! Made this sound a whole lot worse than it was, the episode was close to a perfect first-episode adaption of a novel, and I loved it so much. Thank you!
Special kudos to: Eliza Scanlen for stealing the show every time she was on screen, even next to pros like Adams and Clarkson. Perfect line deliveries and a great kickstart to a creepy and intriguing character.
