The first reactions to Star Wars: The Last Jedi are here and certainly echo Luke Skywalker’s standout line from The Last Jedi trailer.
The eighth installment of the Skywalker saga had its world premiere on Saturday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where attendees were the very first audience to screen The Last Jedi. While reviews are embargoed until Tuesday, Dec. 12, reactions and early buzz began pouring out on social media immediately following the screening.
A Wrinkle in Time director Ava Duvernay called the movie “superb storytelling” and a “total joy-ride through the galaxy.”
Taran Killam (in a holiday sweater) sweetly thanked The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, writing, “You took care of my childhood, and made my adulthood better.”
Logan director James Mangold congratulated Johnson on “dazzling writing and directing work” that allowed Johnson’s “own voice” to shine through.
