Quotes

  • [last lines]

Ed Tucker : Long week, huh?

Olivia Benson : Yeah. Yeah. The funny thing is... I've never been happier.

Ed Tucker : Then why are you crying?

Olivia Benson : Because I'm scared that it won't last.

Ed Tucker : That's not true. Not if I can help it. Come on, let's take a walk. It's a beautiful day.

  • Olivia Benson : It's been ten hours, and we are no closer to finding the boy's parents. I just feel so...

Ed Tucker : Responsible? Because you found him? That kid held a loaded gun on you.

Olivia Benson : He didn't know what he was doing.

Ed Tucker : Even more dangerous.

  • Amanda Rollins : Where were you two mornings ago?

Armin Sidran : I was home in bed 'till 8:30, and then I went to work.

Amanda Rollins : So you weren't at Luka's apartment?

    Armin Sidran : No.

Olivia Benson : So you didn't have sex with her that morning?

Armin Sidran : Of course not.

Olivia Benson : So those scars and those bruises on her stomach and on her legs and on her back.

Amanda Rollins : Is that the belt you used on her?

Olivia Benson : [Armin remains silent]  Hey, she asked you a question.

    Armin Sidran : I want a lawyer.

Olivia Benson : Okay. But you're going down with or without a lawyer.

Armin Sidran : Ana is a terrorist, and a tramp. Do you really think anyone cares about her?

    Olivia Benson : I do.

    [nodding to Rollins]

Olivia Benson : And so does she. And trust me, that's enough.

  • Odafin Tutuola : [searching Luka's apartment]  Liv. We got a problem.

Olivia Benson : [Fin shows her the arsenal in a closet]  Get back. Nobody touch anything.

Amanda Rollins : What are we looking at?

[noticing the writing on the wall]

    Amanda Rollins : It's Arabic.

Olivia Benson : Call ESU, Joint Terrorism, and the bomb squad.

  • Armin Sidran : Okay, fine. You're right. I had sex with her, a few times.

    Olivia Benson : Sit down.

    Armin Sidran : She's a whore.

Olivia Benson : That's not a nice word.

Armin Sidran : She's not a nice woman. She's a manipulator. A user. She came here and she ruined my brother's life! She turned him into a killer, a radical.

  • Olivia Benson : You don't have to worry about Armin anymore.

Ana Kapic : So my son...

Olivia Benson : We contacted your sister, Shanik, and she's on her way here now to New York. And Ali is going to go live with her in Bosnia.

    Ana Kapic : Thank you.

  • Odafin Tutuola : The lab picked up a partial print off the Glock, a match for Luka Terzik.

Dominick Carisi, Jr. : Yeah, he's twenty-six. He was born in New York. He was arrested in 2014 for possession, but the charges were dropped.

Olivia Benson : Any idea if he's related to the bike victim, Ana, or the little boy?

Dominick Carisi, Jr. : Well, I mean, there is some resemblance. He could be the kid's father.

Amanda Rollins : All we know on Ana is that she's a Bosnian national here on a student visa. We're trying to track down her parents, and we're still waiting on the boy's DNA.

Olivia Benson : We have a last known for Luka?

Dominick Carisi, Jr. : Yeah, an apartment in Queens.

Olivia Benson : Okay, well, I'm not gonna hold my breath, but let's go take a look

Odafin Tutuola : We got it covered.

Olivia Benson : No, I want to talk to this guy myself and ask him why his Glock was in the backpack of a four year old.

  • Deputy Chief William Dodds : All right, everybody, listen up. I'm sure you're aware we have a high-priority situation. Ana Kapic, Luka Terzik should be considered armed and dangerous. We have reason to believe they are planning mass-casualty event. We have no idea what the potential targets might be.

Olivia Benson : So we have their photos out to all media outlets, every precinct in the city as well as the outer boroughs. NYPD will coordinate with JTTF, state police, and of course, the FBI. We're all-in on this; round the clock shifts until this crisis is resolved.

  • Olivia Benson : Hey, that was Barba. He got the judge to grant an order to unlock the phone.

Deputy Chief William Dodds : Great. How long's that gonna take? Hours? Days?

Olivia Benson : Well, we don't know. The manufacturer's not cooperating.

Deputy Chief William Dodds : Of course not. It's not like there are people's lives in danger or anything.

Olivia Benson : We're trying, chief.

Deputy Chief William Dodds : Try harder.

  • Olivia Benson : The DNA came back on the boy, Ali. The father is Luka's brother, Armin. Which means that he has paternal rights.

Rafael Barba : Liv, I understand...

Olivia Benson : You understand? If Ana's going to prison, right?

    Rafael Barba : Mm-hmm.

Olivia Benson : If the feds can't up with a case against Armin, then that monster is gonna get custody of that boy.

Rafael Barba : [she starts to storm out]  Where are you going?

Olivia Benson : I'm going to investigate a case that everyone wants me to ignore.

  • Armin Sidran : Are you crazy? I would never even think about such a thing. She was engaged to my brother! That's the beginning and the end of this.

Amanda Rollins : We're more concerned with the middle.

    Armin Sidran : Excuse me?

Olivia Benson : Ana claims that you raped her.

Armin Sidran : Forced her to? Please.

Olivia Benson : So the sex was consensual?

Armin Sidran : I told you, we never had sex. It was neither consensual or nonconsensual. It never happened. I would never do that to Luka.

Olivia Benson : [sarcastic]  Right, 'cause you're such a gentleman.

    Amanda Rollins : And you're a liar.

Armin Sidran : What the hell are you talking about?

Amanda Rollins : Well, we ran Ali's DNA. You're the father. Ana's the mother. So unless you had in vitro, you two had sex.

  • Deputy Chief William Dodds : Are you a cop or a defense lawyer?

Olivia Benson : I did what I thought was right.

Deputy Chief William Dodds : You are aware that our goal is to win this case?

Olivia Benson : I am. What did you want me to do? Perjure myself?

Deputy Chief William Dodds : I just got done talking to the chief, the D.A., and the mayor. They're livid. Already looking for a head to serve up on a shiny, silver platter. They stuck their necks out with the feds just to get this case. Losing is not an option. So please, pretend you're on our side, not theirs.

  • Olivia Benson : [after getting chewed out by Chief Dodds]  You looking for a fight, too?

Rafael Barba : I understand what you're doing. It's admirable.

    Olivia Benson : But?

    Rafael Barba : It's stupid, self-centered, idealistic.

Olivia Benson : But rape is rape. We don't get to invent our victims or our perps. We hear the evidence and we investigate. Unless, of course, you're a Muslim woman who's accused of murder, and then we jut throw you under the patriotic bus and live our merry lives.

Rafael Barba : I came here to tell you the judge ruled in our favor.

Olivia Benson : Not our favor. Your favor.

Rafael Barba : Either way, the rape testimony isn't coming in. Liv, like I keep telling you, this case is different.

  • Rita Calhoun : What do you want to talk about? My opening argument?

Olivia Benson : Hey, Rita, it's... it's over.

Rita Calhoun : I know we lost the motion. I get it. But we still have a defense.

Olivia Benson : But you're not going to win. This case is too important to too many people.

Rita Calhoun : Are you saying the fix is in?

Olivia Benson : I'm saying that it's time to cut a deal, for Ana's sake. Barba will listen today, now. But once this goes to trial, he's gonna have no choice but to max her out.

Rita Calhoun : That's not a reason to cut a deal.

Olivia Benson : [handing her a folder]  No, but this is. Armin Sidran is seeking sole custody of the little boy, Ali. So if you cut a deal on the murder and terrorism charge, it will give us more leverage to pursue the rape case, and make sure that Armin never goes near that little boy again.

  • Olivia Benson : Look, I know you wanted more, but we have a strong case.

Rafael Barba : I'm not certain the D.A. would support moving forward with this right now, given the political climate.

Olivia Benson : Yes, I know that some monster just shot up a gay club in Orlando and another one killed five police officers in Dallas. It's horrific. We're under siege. Nobody knows what's gonna happen next. But Ana deserves justice for what happened to her.

    Rafael Barba : Liv...

Olivia Benson : All she has left is her kid. She just wants him to be safe. I'm going to arrest that son of a bitch.

  • Dominick Carisi, Jr. : Hey, lieu, bad news. The, uh... older woman in the bicycle accident, she didn't make it.

Amanda Rollins : Unis did find a few witnesses in the park that put her and the lost boy together.

Olivia Benson : You get an ID?

Dominick Carisi, Jr. : Rahima Babic. We got a city card with an address in Astoria. No cell phone, but we did find kids' sunscreen in her bag.

Olivia Benson : So she could be the grandmother or a caretaker. Let's just hope there are parents in the picture.

Odafin Tutuola : Nothing on the Glock. It's unregistered. They're tracking the serial number.

Amanda Rollins : We turn this over to the precinct?

Olivia Benson : No, I want to keep it for now. This kid got a gun from someone, so run prints, touch DNA, go to this Rahima's address and see what you can find.

  • Rafael Barba : We have Ana at the scene. There's an AR-15 around her shoulder. She is five feet away from the shooter. Yet somehow she's the victim?

Olivia Benson : Okay, you think Calhoun is just making this up?

Rafael Barba : I think she's desperately looking for a defense.

Dominick Carisi, Jr. : [entering]  Hey, Lieutenant, affidavit from Ana. She claims that Luka and his brother Armin repeatedly raped her for the past five years.

Rafael Barba : Calhoun's just covering her tracks, laying a record; it means nothing.

Olivia Benson : It's a disclosure. It means something.

    Rafael Barba : Liv...

Olivia Benson : Just because she is a murder defendant doesn't mean that she's not a rape victim.

  • Rafael Barba : You're playing into their defense. The more you investigate this, the more you legitimize her story.

Olivia Benson : Okay, you telling me to ignore it?

Rafael Barba : Just be careful. This case is too big, it's too important, given what's been happening lately; San Bernadino, Orlando.

    Olivia Benson : I know.

Rafael Barba : Dallas, France. People are fed up.

Olivia Benson : I understand that, but...

Rafael Barba : Ana needs to go down, hard. No matter how heartbreaking or tragic her story might be. Right or wrong, that's just how it is.

Olivia Benson : Well, you may be right. But no matter "how it is", I would still like to speak with Ana.
