Six Feet Under and True Blood creator Alan Ball has developed a new series for HBO called Here and Now. I'm a huge fan of the shows that Ball has previously created, so I have no doubt that this new series is going to turn out great.
The show centers on a multi-racial family and things seem to be going fine until one of the adopted kids starts seeing things. We have a teaser trailer for you to watch today that gives us a little taste of what this series will entail and I'm intrigued.
Here and Now stars Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter as the parents of the family and the children are played by Jerrika Hinton, Raymond Lee and Daniel Zovatto, and their lone biological child, played by Sosie Bacon. Here's the synopsis:
This untitled series focuses on a contemporary multi-racial family: a philosophy professor, his lawyer wife,...

After decades in the industry, Kyra Sedgwick knows that Hollywood can be tough. So naturally, she has fears about her and husband Kevin Bacon‘s daughter, Sosie Bacon, following her parents’ career path.
“As an actor, there is so much rejection,” Sedwick tells Good Housekeeping in the magazine’s October issue. “Kevin and I have had some painful experiences, and you don’t want your kid to go through that.”
“But I want to follow her passion, and acting has become her passion,” she adds.
Sosie was Miss Golden Globe back in 2014 and recently starred in the hit Netflix drama series 13 Reasons Why.

After more than three decades as an actress and producer in Hollywood, Kyra Sedgwick is finally taking the leap behind the camera, making her directorial debut in Lifetime's coming-of-age TV movie, Story of a Girl.
Based on the 2007 Ya novel by Sara Zarr, the two-hour movie centers on a young teenage girl named Deanna (played by Banshee's Ryann Shane), whose sex tape goes viral in the sleepy town she's called home all her life, fracturing her relationship with her family and exiling her among her peers.
For Sedgwick, Story of a Girl hits close to home -- "So many things about the story rang true to me," she shared with Et -- and part of the reason why she was less hesitant about putting on the director's hat for the first time. For it to have been made into a movie is itself a feat, as Sedgwick optioned the book when it was first published and attempted...

Every day we lose the best and brightest of us to suicide. Yesterday was another such day. Someone important to many of us could seemingly no longer bear to live among us. Yet suicide remains one of society’s greatest taboos. An act some still refer to as committing suicide long after the act itself ceased to be a crime. HeyUGuys is a site which celebrates creativity and the artistic vision. And arguably creative minds can be amongst the most susceptible to hopelessness. Which makes it all the more outrageous that a single show, telling a single girl’s story, should be provoking such outrage.
13 Reasons Why narrates, via thirteen cassette tapes and thirteen episodes, the cumulative pain which causes one girl – Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) – to take her life. And leads one boy – Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) – to engage his heart and risk his carefully inoffensive...

Hollywood investment gives Len Blavatnik piece of Warner Bros co-fi business.
Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries division Access Entertainment has acquired James Packer’s stake in RatPac Entertainment.
The investment gives Blavatnik ownership of RatPac’s film, television and documentary business alongside Brett Ratner, as well as a considerable piece of the RatPac-Dune venture that co-finances films for Warner Bros.
Ratner will retain his interest in RatPac Entertainment, remain as CEO and become co-chairman alongside Access Entertainment president and former BBC Television director Danny Cohen.
Australian businessman Packer’s exit from Hollywood is the second departure from the fold after Us treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin divested himself of his Hollywood interests upon taking office earlier in the year. They include RatPac-Dune Entertainment and Dune Capital Entertainment.
Ratner and Packer launched RatPac Entertainment in 2013 and partnered with Dune Entertainment on a multi-year film co-financing arrangement with Warner Bros for up to 75 pictures including films such as the upcoming...
