Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaSequel to Kamp Krusty (1992) but unlike that episode Bart and Lisa are only there for a few minutes before returning home early.
- GoofsAs a sequel to Season 4 Episode 1 Kamp Krusty (1992), which was the season opener in 1992, this is ostensibly set in Fall 1992. However, there are several indicators this is a modern story, such as Homer's suggestion to subscribe to a magazine using a new email address, when signing up for something using an email address wasn't available back then.

Funny with a Well Structured Plot,
Kamp Krustier is a terrific Simpsons episode with a very well written plot and plenty of hilarious moments. It is a very strong Homer and Marge episode as we see their marriage really hit rock bottom this time around. There have been several episodes in recent years where they had marital issues that had such little scope that it was far too predictable how they were going to pull through before the show was over. However, this time around, I found myself genuinely concerned for them, truly not being able to solve a way in my head for them to sort through these issues, and that's how it always should be.
The Bart and Lisa sub plot was lackluster, and if it was not for how strong Homer and Marge's story was, I would be giving a much lower rating. We know that they are traumatised after an event in Kamp Krusty, and that is all we know for quite some time, as an audience member we become irritated, rather than enticed, which was obviously there intention. Once we find out what it was that occurred, all I will say is, it is immensely underwhelming.
The highlight of the episode for me had to be seeing Homer taking his job seriously for once. We have seen the character take on several occupations over the years that he was passionate about, but this was our first time seeing him become a model employee at the Power Plant, which was great fun for a long time viewer to see.
Great development in 20 minutes. Funny and hard hitting, Kamp Krustier is one of the highlights of the 28th season, in my opinion.
Bart and Lisa put an end to Homer and Marge's romantic evenings when a traumatic incident forces them to return home early from camp.
